Chapter 12 - The Past: Jeon Jungkook

[Jungkook POV]

I woke up.

I saw leaves, but they were very blurry. What... happened? I put my hand up, realizing I was touching something, a face that was very clear. I saw someone familiar.

Was this a vision... it can't be.

"Mi... mi?" I mumbled out.

I couldn't hear a response, but they did after a few seconds, but they were confused.

Was this some sort of vision? I swear, it looks like her...

But why is she here?

[3RD PERSON POV]

Back in Freshman Year...

Jeon Jungkook, age 16, years after the curse was placed. During this time, Jungkook's father died from heart failure and his funeral was a couple of weeks ago, before his 16th birthday. This was very heartbreaking to him, considering he never knew he would leave so soon, especially his father. He seemed very healthy, and happy all day everyday, until this one day he seemed to get very sick, causing his heart to fail. 

One thing made him furious, and that was his mother didn't go to his father's funeral. 

Each day, she would come late at night. Jungkook barely saw her and hung out with her. Whenever he tried to start up a conversation, she seemed very angry and irritated. However, she only talked to his older brother named Junghyun. His brother was the one who looked over him, even when he was 16 and attended high school. He provided special care, and helped him get over their father's death, but it was very tough.

His mother was a lawyer who worked in Seoul 24/7, literally. His brother was training to follow her steps, but secretly didn't want to become one actually, just to make sure his little dongsaeng stayed cheerful and active. This was one thing that made Jungkook happy.

However, there was another person in her life that made him happy.

Her name was Mi Sun, but she went by Mimi for short. She was just a year younger than Jungkook, but why did she make him happy? He had a major crush on her since middle school (they both went to the same school). 

We all know that scenario where the popular boy is adored by all the girls in the school and there was a nervous girl among the crowd, right? In this case, Mimi was extremely popular among her grade. Everyone loved her. She was especially talented, beautiful and usually did many contributions towards their school. 

Not only was she talented, but she maintained really good grades and was an inspiration towards Jungkook. He adored her, like everyone else. Except, he knew she wasn't going to see him, because he felt like he was just one of those kids that never really stood out towards her.
