I watched her sleeping, wondering what to do. The stone I was sourced from was not like most of the others, that much I knew. The other Andys could never wake. I had kept still and silent, learning about this 'Andy,' my destiny, from everyone who touched me. But my makers had known almost nothing compared to this woman, this girl. She loved Andy, she loved me.

I resolved to love her too. The complexity of her feelings, the depth of her knowledge, it was fascinating. She had been so focused on me, I hadn't even learned her name, just everything she knew, everything she felt for my namesake. What an interesting psychological study, really...

She was a bit like a wounded animal, so hurt. Why? I knew little yet of human ways, but I knew comforting her as a miniature man, even a favorite, fantasized man, would startle her. It would be unexpected. But I wanted to... Stitch her wounds? Not literally, surely? I'd have to investigate that further, the contact had been too limited.

Clearly, I had to make a plan. At some point, I'd have to reveal both that I was not an average figurine, and that my intentions were benevolent. Next, if this lonely girl needed love, I couldn't give her that as a small man made of stone. I'd have to become human. Perhaps she'd have some ideas? Though I wasn't sure how humans displayed love, I hoped she could teach me. I would cross that bridge when I came to it.

In the meantime, I should endeavor to give her some small sign. Something that would alarm her as little as possible. I'd have to be careful. Humans, being flesh and blood, were prone to things like heart attacks, stroke, from fright...
