Chapter 19: Publicity

"Babe, babe stop." Niall put his hands on Lauren's shoulders as she began to hyperventilate.

"What if no one likes me? What if I say the wrong thing? What if they think I'm ugly?" Lauren said between breaths.

"Babe, stop. Everyone will love you, and if they don't than whatever. You have me and that's all that matters. Number two, you are not going to say the wrong thing, because you are going to be fabulous. And finally, there is no one they are going to think you are ugly, because you are beautiful. There is no way you could be ugly, because you're not ugly." Lauren looked down and smiled.

"Thanks, babe." She looked back up at him and he gently placed his hand on her cheek. "I can't believe we're about to do this." She glanced over to the stage where Sammy and Harry were currently sitting on the couch being interviewed. It was this idea management had, they were going to Access Hollywood to formally make their relationships public. Lauren's nerves with a knot. She was one of the newest girlfriends, aside from Emma, and that had her terrified. Along with the fact that Niall was usually always one of the single guys.

"2 minutes Niall." Niall nodded at the crew member before turning back to Lauren. Niall was going to come out and then they would play his and Lauren's YouTube video, which had since gone viral. After the video was over they would bring Lauren out.

"This is going to be great. Don't sweat it." Niall grinned.

"I know, I'm just kind of freaking out. I'm about to go in front of cameras for all of America to see. I was expecting to that to happen by dating you, because it's a given. I just didn't know it was going to happen so fast."

"I know, I didn't know either. But this is all going to work out for the best, okay?" Lauren scowled and then nodded.

"You're up Niall." A crew member appeared at Niall's side right as Sammy and Harry made their way off the stage. Lauren looked out at the stage and sighed.

"See you out there." Niall said in almost a whisper before planting a kiss on her cheek. Lauren had no time to respond before he was escorted to the stage by crew. After that she was escorted to the edge of the stage, where she could watch Niall and wait to go on.

"So Niall, you've really sent people into a tizzy lately. First a YouTube video and then confirmation that you are no longer on the market." The interviewer spoke. Niall smiled and nodded with a slight giggle.

"Yeah, it all happened really quickly. After Christmas Zayn and I flew to Dallas to see Elyse and Lauren who are from there, and then it just sort of took off. I found out Lauren could play the piano, so we decided to make a video. When I sent out the link to the video and tagged Lauren in it I sort of knew there were going to be a lot of questions, so I figured I might as well go ahead and just put it out there and say that she was my girlfriend." Niall shrugged. Yep, that was pretty much it in a nutshell.

"Sounds like you have been busy. We have the video pulled up right here, so if you wouldn't mind, why don't we take a look at it." Niall nodded his head in confirmation before turning his head to the big screen on the wall of the stage in order to watch the video. Lauren grimaced as she heard the video start. She really didn't know why she thought posting a video of her singing was such a great idea. Once the video concluded, that's when she prepared herself for her cue. "Before we continue with the questions, I think we should go ahead and bring out the other star of the video who is also back stage." Niall nodded. "Ladies and gentleman, please welcome the lovely Lauren Champion." There was applause and Lauren stepped out on stage when the crew member gave the signal.

As soon as Lauren's feet touched the stage she turned on the biggest smile she could muster and waved to the crowd. As instructed she hugged the interviewer and then moved to the couch and hugged Niall before they both sat down in unison with their hands clasped together.
