"You know what?" Niall looked over to Zayn as they stepped foot in the DFW airport.
"What?" Zayn questioned.
"I like Texas." Niall stated. Zayn chuckled.
"I like Texas too. And thanks for messing things up with Lauren so I could come see my girlfriend." Niall laughed, even though it still hurt a little bit. "Kidding mate, but thanks."
"So, does Elyse know we're coming?" Niall quickly changed the subject as they walked through the airport towards baggage claim.
"Yeah, I've arranged it with her. We're going to stay at her place. Lauren may be there this afternoon, I don't know I'm not sure. But either way after we get our bags we're going to get a rental car and we are going to drive to her place."
"Sounds fine to me." They reached their baggage claim and grabbed their bags when they came off of the carousel. After that they went to pick up their rental car. They argued for a few minutes over what car to get. Niall wanted the Mustang, but Zayn said it wasn't practical. Niall huffed, but Zayn won. They ended up with a black Ford Focus.
"Lauren and Elyse here we come!" Niall threw his hands up and shouted as they pulled out of the parking garage. Zayn was driving and Niall was assigned to directions. Niall was very excited, though he was just a little nervous. He was hoping that everything would work out in his favor and Lauren would dump her boyfriend. But he knew that the chances of that happening were slim. Lauren wasn't that type of person. So even if they didn't get together right away, the least Niall could do was let Lauren know how he felt and hope she felt the same way.

"Hi Elyse!" Lauren yelled as she stepped foot into her best friend's house. She looked around. One of Elyse's siblings had let her in.
"In the kitchen!" Elyse called. Lauren thanked Elyse's brother for letting her in and went to the kitchen where Elyse was cleaning up from lunch. Elyse glanced back from the sink. "What's up?"
"Oh, you just said I could come over, so I did." Elyse turned back around and wiped her hands on a dishtowel before nodding in recognition.
"That's right. Sorry I got stuck on babysitting duty." Lauren laughed.
"It's okay. I like your siblings." Lauren said sweetly as she adjusted her purse on her arm. "Can I help?" Elyse thought for a minute.
"Actually, did you want to take them to the park with me? They've been cooped up in the house all week. Some fresh air may do them some good. And it's not as cold as it has been."
"Sounds fine." Lauren shrugged with a simple smile.
"Great," Elyse passed Lauren and left the kitchen. "Alright guys get your coats and boots on we're going to the park!"
There was a chorus of yay's from around the house. Elyse turned back to Lauren. "I mean I know they're not super little that I have to watch over them the whole time, but I don't want to get in trouble with my parents." Lauren nodded.
"No, yeah, it's fine."
"You sure?"
"It's totally fine. I'll wait here if you want to go and get your coat on."
"Cool," Elyse darted to her room. She smiled to herself. So far the plan was going great. She checked her phone, she had heard from Zayn and Niall confirming that they were on the road to her house. Elyse fired back a response.
We'll be at the park by my house. You'll pass it on your way in the neighborhood, go ahead and stop and meet us there. Lauren's here too.
