Mia's POV
~~~~~~~~~
"I can't believe you're making me go and meet Hannah!" I sigh, exasperated."Well, wrap your head around it then."
I scoff. Rude.
"Besides," he continues. "I just know you two will get along."
"Thomas, promise me that I wouldn't have to see you again in my life after meeting Hannah." Yes, I'm begging. He's just causing more chaos. I already have a pile. So ... no, thanks, I'm good.
"Oh, please. You meeting Hannah just permits you that you'll be seeing me a couple of hundred times." He laughs, dodging the old man in front of him who doesn't seem to be able to move. Actually, that was mean of me. He does move, just on a slow pace. It's as if he's doing the slow motion thing.
We were walking down the streets toward his house. Trust me, I don't know how that happened. But, oh well, Tom has his ways. I don't exactly remember agreeing. All I know is that one minute I'm in an ice cream parlour and the second I'm walking with a pretty much good-looking human being.
"What are you thinking?" He asks curiously.
Oh, you know, I was wondering how in hell did I find myself walking with an extremely good-looking human being (If you can call him that). But oh well ... since you asked ...
"Nothing much," I say, settling for the short version. I'll never tell him he's good-looking. Nope, not gonna happen. Man, the dude already has a gigantic ego. So no, thanks. I'd much prefer if it was a little bit smaller.
"I see," he muses.
I roll my eyes. "Everyone does. That's what eyes are for?"
He chuckles. "Your sarcasm gives you the edge you need." He winks.
"I'm not very sure about that ..." I smirk. "I mean, I'll have a handful of men falling under my feet in a couple of seconds."
He waves his hands in the air dismissively. "Meh. I'll have the whole female population under me in a second."
He did not just say that. Okay, people, there is a hidden innuendo there, right? I'm pretty sure there is.
"You mean the whole female population minus me, correct?"
"Even you are attracted to me. Whether you like it or not, it's the truth."
"Truth my ass."
"I'd love to see it."
And this, ladies and gentlemen; boys and girls, is the real-life picture of a walking innuendo.
"Wait!" I yank his hands from the door handle. "I need a couple sets of deep breaths."He laughs and pushes down the door handle. "Hello?"
"Toms, hi," a feminine voice sounds behind the door. Tom steps into the room and I follow behind him. "Guests?" The girl, whom I suspect as Hannah, raises a brow. I smile immediately. She's beautiful. She has this natural blood hair that hits just below her elbow, and an alluring smile that could have a red apple turning blue. Pretty impossible, but that was just how beautiful her smile is.
"Hello, I'm Mia." I move to stand beside her hospital bed to shake her hands.
"I'm Hannah."
Well, that wasn't expected. I thought I'd receive a charming smile, just like the one her brother got, but no. She just stared at me. And then it clicked. She saw me as just another one of those girls. The girls her brother brings every time. Nah-uh. Not happening.
"I'm just a friend," I add.
"Freinds with benefit, you mean," she says, her face neutral.
"Hannah," Tom says from behind me.
"What, Toms? No wait, let me correct my question.What happened to the last one? Brianna, wasn't it?"
Okay, I despise her.
"Hannah, I'm still with Berianna," Tom says, irritation evident in his tone. "You know what?" He turns to me. "I think it's better if we go somewhere else."
"But-" I start.
"Now, Mia."
I nod and exit the room with him. Tom stops in the hallway. He runs a hands across his face then pushes his hair off his forehead.
Okay, I'm not exactly familiar to this Tom. I mean the Tom I know is the one with the biggest ego Earth has witnessed. The Tom I know always has a smile on his face. The Tom I know is never serious. Ever. No, this Tom though, has a scowl printed on his face, the crease between his eyebrows visible from ... anger? I don't know. It's just so un-Tom-like.
"I'm sorry." He stops and turns to me.
"Why are you apologising?" He crosses his arms over his chest.
I take in a deep breath. Mia, say the right thing. Because, like, duh! Steam is visibly exiting his ears. "I don't know why I apologised. You just looked like you needed it. Or else you'll punch something."
Smooth. Real smooth.
"Well, don't apologise. Or otherwise this something would be you."
I gasp. "Excuse me?"
His eyes widen as he realises his mistake. "Mia-"
Nope, too late. I'm already stalking away from him and toward the huge set of doors. The wind whips my hair as I rush outside and look for a cab.
"You know I didn't mean it!" He reasons.
Well, it didn't sounded like you did. But the fact that you said it into the open air confirms it. I ignore him.
The ass needs to learn a lesson.He spins me around. "Silent treatment? Really, Mia?"
I step closer to him. "Get your hands off me," I say, slowly. His hands goes to his hair as he tugs at the roots.
I turn around and stop a cab.
He grabs my hands again and I'm a second away from slapping him. He pulls it roughly to the point that I come crashing against his chest. And it doesn't surprise me when he crashes his lips against mine.
Author's note:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Oh my Gosh! This seems like the worst cliff hanger I'll make in the book. But hey! Go easy on me. I know, the chapter was short and all. But it was good.Okay, people, I want to dedicate this chapter to my American friend: Adam Hatcherson.
Okay, so he's amazing despite the fact that he always has a cocky personality. Anyways, I'm not sure he even has Wattpad. But, boy, I'll let you know when he does. Trust me, he's the kind of guy you'd like to follow. I mean, he's super funny. And ... uhm I'm not very sure you'd like the rest. *wink* If you get my meaning. But I'll pester him about doing Wattpad. Sooner rather than later. Now ...
R.Q: What do you think of the first kiss?
Wait for the continuation tomorrow. Trust me, I'll update the first thing in the morning. You just wait and see.
P.S. I'm fully aware that this chapter was short, but I hope you enjoyed.
Until next time.-Leen.
