Heya! This one's dedicated to one of my best friends Jay... she's amazing, although this chapter would have been up an hour ago if we hadn't been talking on facebook :P Anyways, she is definitely my most enthusiastic reader, you should see some of the excited texts I get from her when she reads a new chapter, it's amazing. So thank you for being so supportive, and never really caring if my story's good, only caring that it's mine :)
The song on the side is Madonna's new song, which if any of you are Madonna fans you will have seen already. If you're one of those people who tries to deny that Madonna is the queen of pop you are cleary deluded and/or a Lady GaGa fan. You don't have to like her, you just have to admit the truth. She is the queen.
Anyways, feel free to read on no matter how you feel about Madonna!

Michael ventured out of the guest room in Debby’s house the next morning feeling relieved. He knew that the day ahead of him looked better than the previous one. The whole evening had been filled with tension. At dinner Mrs Martin and Rob had kept the conversation away from any tender subjects, then he and Debby had spent the evening catching up on a strictly friends basis.
It turned out that Debby’s closest friends were now Taffy and Bronwyn- Isha who she’d been close with previously had moved away and they’d lost contact. Debby was planning to do English Literature at Durham eventually, but first she wanted to take a gap year off and travel the world with Bronwyn. He found this fascinating, because the last time he’d seen her she’d had no idea what she wanted to do.
But today would be different. She had school and had presumably already left for it, and Beth would be arriving in St. David’s. He was hoping that her presence would relieve some of the awkwardness between them.
He made his way to the kitchen and helped himself to a bowl of cereal. He was surprisingly at ease in her house given the situation, but he had always been good at making himself at home.
Once he had finished eating and was just putting his bowl in the dishwasher he heard someone open the door to the kitchen behind him. Presuming it was Rob or Mrs Martin he greeted them without turning around. ‘Morning.’
‘What you doing up so early?’ Debby’s voice came from behind him. He spun around quickly to face her and found her standing in the doorway, in only a vest and shorts.
‘Debby! Why are you even here?’ he asked. ‘It’s like ten in the morning, don’t you have school?’
Debby smiled and entered the room. ‘You’re asking me why I’m in my own house?’ she said sceptically.
He cleared his throat uncomfortably and shrugged. ‘You’re allowed to be here, I just thought you’d have school.’
Debby moved slightly closer to him and punched him gently on the arm. ‘Michael, you forget I’m no longer fourteen,’ she told him. ‘I’m in my final year at school and it’s June, all I have at the moment are my exams.’
He sighed and moved over to the kitchen table, trying to create some more space between them. ‘How come you were at school yesterday then?’
She flipped her hair over her head and out of her face. ‘I had an exam in the morning, then just hung around in school,’ she explained, leaning against a counter. ‘I’ve been holed up here trying to do some revision so I hadn’t seen my friends for a while, wanted to catch up.’
