New chapter, an exciting one too! You'll like it I think, but I can't know unless you comment :) I want to know everything, your thoughts on the characters, what you think the new character (who is only mentioned in this chapter) will be like, how she will fit into the plot, what you think will happen next, any guess on how the book will end, EVERYTHING. Literally, no comment is not welcome.
I just finished writing the chapter after this and it wrote sooooo easily, which is always a good sign. I will upload again on friday, with possibly more than one chapter, because I'm babysitting for five hours, so I may get a lot of writing done.
Happy reading!

They slipped back into their old routine with surprising ease. Three years earlier, Michael had been prepared for awkwardness at the beginning of his stay, but everything had been easy. Now, he was even more shocked that things worked so well, because this situation was even weirder. He spent most of his time in the first week with Beth, because Debby was hiding away revising for her final exam.
They visited Haverfordwest, hung out in both Debby and Beth’s houses, walked to the beaches on the coast, and he felt at peace with himself. Even though he wasn’t back with Debby yet, it was enough just seeing her everyday, and in the meantime, he loved spending his days with Beth.
On Wednesday afternoon, Debby finally had her English exam, so Michael and Beth drove her to school to wish her luck, then killed time in Haverfordwest until she was finished and they could pick her up.
‘So you think Alfie will be there?’ he asked Beth, as they walked back towards the school where he had left his car.
‘Dunno, I guess he will be if he took English too,’ she said. ‘You met him already right?’
‘Yeah on the day I got here,’ he told her. ‘He came out with her, his arm around her neck and I wanted to hit him or something. He looks like such a douche bag.’
‘Yeah, he’s pretty bad,’ she admitted. ‘He’s done some terrible things to her, I don’t know the details because I don’t see her that often, and she doesn’t like me judging him so is reluctant to tell, but I know he’s cheated on her more than once, and she knows about it.’
Michael stopped abruptly, mouth wide open. They had just turned the corner and Tasker Milward School had come into sight. ‘He’s cheated on her?’ he repeated. He turned his face towards the school and swallowed a lump in his throat. She’s in there with him. The thought disgusted him, that Alfie should be allowed anywhere near her was wrong.
‘That’s why everyone but her is so glad to see you,’ Beth pointed out. ‘You’re the only person that has any chance of making her see straight, and she knows it.’ They were standing there, about a hundred metres away from the school and Michael wasn’t showing any signs of moving or saying anything. ‘Michael? Are you okay? Say something.’
He stared at the building some more. Somewhere within Debby was finishing off her final exam. Afterwards, she would want to celebrate. A vague plan was formulating in his mind at the speed of light.
‘Come on Michael,’ Beth said again. ‘Say something.’
‘I’m going to get her away from him,’ he told Beth, not moving his eyes from the school. ‘Not even for myself. She deserves to be with someone better, so I’m going to make sure they break up. I’m not leaving till they do.’
