Tyler raced up the stairs, towards the room Craig was changing in. Jonathan stood quietly, looking over at his friend who was staring at the door, tiredly glancing over at Jon.

"You know they're gay, right?" Evan asked after a few seconds of silence. Jonathan softly chuckled and sat down beside Evan.

"How do I not?" He asked, laughing. Evan laughed with him. "The door looks pretty fucking safe."

Evan glanced at the door and sighed, a small smile appearing on his face. "Yeah. It was hard with Tyler constantly asking questions about his boyfriend."

Jon laughed and, for once, he didn't feel scared. There was a slight warmth and comfort he felt when he was around his best friend. Whenever he was around, he felt so happy. His day could go totally wrong, but then Evan could suddenly appear and everything would be perfect.

"Jon." Evan said softly after a few minutes of silence.

     He didn't look up. "Hmm?"

Evan looked down at his lap. "I..Jonathan, I don't know if we'll survive, but, I promise you, I will keep you safe for as long as I can."

Jonathan smiled and, without even glancing up, spoke as honestly as he could. "You're my best friend." He muttered.

Evan looked up. "What was that?"

He couldn't stop smiling. "Evan, you're my best friend."

Evan scooted closer and turned to Jon, a little smirk slowly appearing on his face. "Sorry, I didn't hear you."

Jon looked up and couldn't help but smile. "You're my best friend." He repeated.

"That's what I wanted to hear." Evan said, before standing up and walking over to the stairs. "I'm goanna go take a piss!" He yelled, before walking back up the stairs.

Jonathan let out a breath he didn't know he was holding, then leaned back on the couch as he felt his heart beating faster and faster.

     --------------------- (UPSTAIRS)

Tyler opened the door without hesitating. "Are you okay?" He asked, not being fazed by the fact Craig was trying to put on a shirt.

Craig slipped on the shirt, then turned towards Tyler. "Oh..hey, Ty."

The flashlight balanced on the bed didn't make for much of a light, but the moonlight that peeked in from the window allowed Tyler to at least see Craig's face.

"Are you okay?" He repeated, putting his arms around Craig's waist.

Craig smiled and put his arms on Tyler's shoulders. "I'm fine, Ty. Stop worrying."

Tyler sighed and pulled the shorter boy close to him. "I know, I know. It's just..you seemed so freaked out."

Craig giggled. "Ty, it's the apocalypse, of course I'm freaked out."

Tyler buried himself in Craig's shirt. "I just hate it when you're scared. All I want is for you to be happy. And, right now, I'm not sure if I can do that."

"Tyler, whenever you're with me, I'm happy." Craig whispered, closing his eyes.

A minute of silence passed, before the two finally pulled apart. Tyler reached over and pulled Craig closer one more time, kissing him slowly. Craig leaned forwards and pulled Tyler closer the deeper they kissed.
