The sunlight warmed my face and sent chills down my spine. My eyes opened as the fog of sleep slowly cleared from my head. The light from the window showed the dust motes swirling in the air and I felt the cool sheets surrounding me. I also felt something that I couldn't quite explain: there was something up against my back that was moving rhythmically. It felt warm and pleasant, but my mind struggled to piece together what that feeling was. I stiffened as the connection was made in my head; it was Tom. Now that I was fully awake, all the memories of the previous night flooded back: laughing with his mother and sisters, talking to him late last night, and his voice lulling me to sleep. His hand was slung around my waist and held me close. This couldn't be real, I had to be dreaming. Well, I thought, might as well enjoy it while you can. I snuggled into Tom's embrace until I was as close to him as I could manage and closed my eyes. Could you sleep in dreams? My breathing slowed again as I drifted once again into darkness.
