Carly Lily Potter

Adventuring

It had been a good two weeks for Carly. She had been introduced to all the staff members and they welcomed her. She had also was able to slightly unhinge the mask of Severus Snape. She had actually been able to make him smile, but only the once.

She was happy and really didn't want to have to go back to the Dursleys at the end of the year.

"Please Severus! Why can't I just stay here for the next 7 years?" She whined.

"Carly, that's just not possible at the moment. Unfortunately, Albus insists it. But it's not for another year yet anyway." He grumbled. He was right and Carly knew it. She would just have to threaten them with magic and stuff if they tried to hurt her.

"Fine." She sighed. "I'm going out for a bit Sev. See ya later." She saw a slight pain flash through Severus' eyes but shrugged it off for now. She skipped out of the door in her newly transfigured knee length summer dress and flat shoes. She had her hair slightly curly.

She decided to just explore the grounds and the castle for now. There was nothing ether to do and it was a lovely day.

She skipped through the halls and went out into the grounds. She stared at Hagrid's hut and steered clear. She liked Hagrid but was wary of him.

She decided to go down to the Black Lake. It was a bright sunny day and quite warm. Being nearly September, it was definitely not going to last.

She got to the lake and stare at over it. She did love watching the giant squid. She decided to go to the edge and she peered near the water.

"Sheesh, it's not as bad as people say." She muttered to herself. She gasped slightly though as a head emerged from the water. "Oh!"

"Hello." The voice rasped. The thing was pretty ugly with green hair and a gremlin like face.

"Hello." Carly replied. "Erm, what are you?"

"I'm a mere person." The voice croaked. She didn't look nice or graceful like a mermaid.

"Oh. I thought you looked different. Well that's cool anyway." Carly smiled. The head came more out of the water and Carly leaned in slightly further.

"What's your name anyway?" Carly asked.

"Athena. I am the new mere princess and so I need to prove myself to the others". Athena sort of smiled.

"Oh I see. Well what do you need to do?" She asked. Carly was slightly confused and had a weird feeling about this. She sat away again but Athena grabbed her ankle and gave a cruel laugh.

"Let go Athena!" Carly moaned. She was panicking now and stood up to move away.

"No way. I need to prove myself." Athena pulled Carly back down and she screamed.

"SEVERUS! HELP ME!" She shouted. Athena laughed again and with a sharp pull, Carly was pulled into the lake. She have a blood curdling scream an then was submerged.

The ice cold water hit her like millions of needles poked into her body. She didn't have chance to grab and breath and was now gulping water.

She was freezing and flailing around trying her best to fight against Athena. Athena was pulling her down and down as Carly couldn't see anything anymore and was becoming dizzy and losing consciousness. She started hearing creepy singing and then a black figure was swimming towards her and a bright light and then she blacked out.

Severus sighed as Carly left. It was the first time she had called him Sev and it brought back memories. The girl was the image of her mother and it hurt. She skipped out of the room and he carried on making his lesson plans as he had two hours before dinner.
