Carly now officially despised Draco Malfoy. Over the past month she had had countless arguments with him, resulting in five detentions after she had finished her two weeks. She couldn't help but feel smug over the fact that Draco still had another month of detentions though.
"First flying lesson today Car." Chester nudged her.
"I know. Right after herbology, just what we need after a lesson like that." Carly laughed. Marley had been seeing less and less of Carly lately and she wanted to know why.
"Honestly Ches, why is Marley hardly around anymore? We've only known her for a month and she is already leaving us." She frowned.
"I dunno Car. But I think I saw her with some other Slytherins the other day." Chester frowned. Carly just nodded sadly and they both sat in silence after that. She had a feeling that she was more interested in the Dark Side of Slytherin now.
"Come on the Carly. We have Herbology first, let's just get it over with." Chester smiled and pulled Carly with him. They walked slowly down to the Herbology Greenhouses and some other Slytherins rushed past them.
It was Draco Malfoy and his friends.
"Wait! That's Marley!" Carly was outraged. She never would have thought that her new best friend would hang around with Draco and Pansy Parkinson and the others.
"Oh yeh." Chester agreed. "Well she has obviously chosen her friends now." He shrugged. Carly was so annoyed at losing her friend, but Chester was right.
They arrived at Greenhouse 1, and were taking Herbology with the Ravenclaws.
"Gather round class." Professor Sprout spoke as she walked in. "We shall be learning the theory on the Devils Snare today. So please grab a stool and get out your parchment and books." The class groaned but did as she said anyway.
"Now, Devils Snare is a type of weed that wraps around the victim if they get too close..." Carly shut her out and sat staring out of the greenhouse windows. She couldn't wait for flying that day, but also, she needed a chat with Marley. Just to sort things out, because obviously they weren't friends anymore.
"Are you listening Miss.Potter?" Professor Sprout asked. Carly's head snapped up and she nodded.
"Yes professor." Professor Sprout went back to her lecture and Carly resumed thinking.
"Are you ok Carly? You look distracted." Chester whispered.
"What? Oh I'm fine thanks. Just excited for flying." Carly replied and grinned. Chester nodded and she decided to start taking notes.
After the long and boring talk from Professor Sprout, they were allowed to go.
They made their way up to the castle to have a break, before getting to go flying.
They went into the great hall and helped themselves to the small selection laid out on only one table. Each break there was a selection of fruits, biscuits and drinks, laid out on one of the house tables, this happened everyday.
"Herbology is always so boring." Chester moaned while munching an apple. They have gone to the main courtyard and were currently sat on a stone bench.
"I agree." Carly sighed and happily ate her grapes. "But at least we don't have it again until Friday." She smiled. They sat in a comfortable silence for a short while, just eating and drinking, watching other students.
"So, what should we do about the Marley thing?" Chester sighed.
"I don't know. I thought we were going to be great friends, but not now. I think I'm just going to ignore her and see if she comes to me, you know." She answered. She was still angry after seeing Marley with Malfoy and his idiots.
