"Excuse me?" Carly asked after about ten minutes. Severus looked up from his newspaper and into the green orbs of his cherished Lily's child.
"Yes?"
"What shall I call you? I mean, should I say Professor, Sir, Snape, Severus?" Carly asked nicely. Severus thought about this. School wasn't for another month, but he only allowed friends to call him Severus.
"Severus is fine." He answered after a little thinking.
"Cool. Severus?"
"Yes?"
"Do you have any spells that can stop things hurting?" Carly inquiered. Her legs and ribs really hurt her at the moment.
"Yes. Why?"
"My legs and ribs hurt pretty bad. Also I have a whack off bruise on my face if you haven't noticed." She didn't sound rude but it was more of a statement. Severus studied her face properly and saw the large purple almost hand print on her face.
"Very well." He took out his wand and did some spells. Carly felt a big pressure in her rib cage as they healed and her legs tingled along with her back and her arms. She relaxed finally, as the pain went away. She hadn't felt pain free for as long as she can remember. "Anything that was wrong is now healed, but you need a potion to get rid of any bruising so it is still there even though it doesn't hurt."
"Thanks you Severus." She smiled. He curtly nodded before returning to his paper.
A while later, Carly could see the shore. It took another ten minutes an they were finally there. Severus allowed Carly out first. He watched her get out and wondered what the hell she had been through.
Why would anyone harm the innocent girl and beat her like they did. He didn't know why, but it made him very angry. For some reason, he felt the need to protect this child.
Severus got out and then walked to Carly.
"We shall be doing something called apparating. We will end up at Hogwarts castle where you shall be staying for the next four weeks and then the term shall start." Severus explained.
"Cool. Let's go then."
"Grab my arm please." He held out his arm and, to Severus' surprise, she hooked her arm around his instead and giggled at his expression. Her laugh sounded just like Lily's. He shook it off and apparated with a 'pop'.
Carly couldn't breath and she felt quite sick. She was being pulled through a narrow pipe and then finally it was over.
Severus kept her standing up as she heavily breathed in and out.
"What the hell was that?" She moaned when she had finally got control of her breathing.
"Apparating. It's a bit hard at first, at least you were not sick." Severus droned. He let go of her arm and she followed him up a small path towards a massive pair of gates. She stared at the gates and followed Severus as he opened them and walked through. He was a fast walker and she jogged slightly, to keep up with him.
As they turned a corner, Carly gasped. She stopped in her tracks and gawped at the large castle that stood before her. It was still very early in the morning and was dark, but there were the early morning yellows and oranges peeking through the night sky.
The castle was lit up with the moonlight and there were a few lights on in some windows. Severus turned around after a little bit and didn't see Carly next to him.
He looked further down and sighed slightly in relief as he saw her taking everything in. He strode back down to her and gave her a stern look.
"I would advise that you actually keep up Potter." Carly looked up in surprise and smiled at him.
