It was 5am, there was a knock at the door. My dorm room door.
I flick on the lights and notice the bed where my quiet roommate slept was empty. The sheets changed from a cozy red to plain white. And all of her stuff was gone. I was alone. But maybe it was her at the door.
I struggle out of bed and slip on comfy slippers. I make my way to the door and unlock it. I open it, and as I except to see a short, quiet girl, I see a tall, grungy man.
Malcolm.
It was Malcolm.
"Aw crap! I forgot to ask to move in with Marcy..." I think to myself.
"Uh, hey. You're Malcolm?" I ask, slowly looking up to his face. "Yeah, aka your new roommate I guess." He says, pushing by my shoulder and putting his face on the empty, plain white bed.
Wow I was much shorter than him.
He was tall, and slender. But he had muscle. I could tell. He had dark brown scruffy hair, and a little bit of stubble.
"So what's your name?" He says walking up to me. "Elizabeth. But if were gonna be in the same room for a year, call me Beth." I reply.
He may have a bad attitude, but he is kind of attractive. I've seen better, but he's handsome.
"I like your hair." He says, reaching for a strand of hair and playing with it. "Thanks, I like yours too."
He wanted to kiss me. I can read what people are thinking, being a vampire. And he wants to kiss me. I feel like saying something, but I don't.
"Okay. Goodnight." I say. There's still an hour before I have to get up again. Might as well sleep.
I walk towards my bed but I'm stopped by Malcolm grasping onto my arm. "Wait," he says. "Uh, what is it?" I stutter. "Can't we stay up for the hour that's left, and talk? Please?"
"What's to talk about?"
"We just met! We should get to know each other if we're gonna love together."
"We're gonna what?"
"Live together."
Malcolm coughs.
I sit by the head of my bed, he sits on the foot of it.
"You seem nice," I chuckle, "I've heard bad things about you." "I'm sure there are bad things going around about you?" He asks. "How'd you know?"
"Your iPod was just playing Second an Sebring on repeat for like, a couple hours. No one with a good attitude would continuously listen to that on repeat for that long. Dead giveaway."
"Yep. We're gonna fall in love."
"What was that?" Malcolm asks, tilting his head.
"Oh, nothing."
