Marcy and I ran down to Student Union. When we got in, it was empty. There was a lecture going on in a classroom but that's it.

"Ah! Marcy and Elizabeth! Come with me." Said a man at the other side of the room. We followed him into an office full of desks and chairs.

"The song you sang. No, not the song. Your voices. Amazing!" The man, Mr. McMaster, says, smiling. "I want you two to perform more. Let the people enjoy their years here."

"No." I say immediately, but at the same time, Marcy said "Yes."

We stare at each other. I have a bit of an angry face and she has a surprised/sad look on. "She will. I won't. Get those harmony girls to sing with her." I say, crossing my arms.

"No! Beth, do it with me! Pleeeease?" Marcy begs.

"No."

"Why?"

"Because I don't want to. And if I don't have to and I don't want to then I don't do it. Okay?"

"But Beth!"

"Nope."

"Ugh."

"But ladies this will be an amazing opportunity. C'mon, give it a try." Mr. McMaster smiles, a bit too peppily.

"Only if it's my choice in songs." I chuckle under my voice.

"Fine."

"Hey vampire babe." Malcolm repeats when I get into the dorm room. "Wait till I close the door will you? Tut tut." I shut the door with both hands.

"What happened at the Student Union?" Malcolm asked. "This old man wanted Marcy and I to sing for other people, make this year enjoyable."

"It's gonna take a lot more than singing."

"I said I'd only do it if I get to chose the songs." I say, with my chin raised. "What song?" Malcolm asked. He stood up from the bed and went over to the mini fridge. He grabbed two slices of cold pizza. "I don't know." I start. Malcolm hands me one of the slices. I take a bite. "I haven't chosen."

Autumn was warm. Of course when we got to the university it was only the beginning. Now, the bone-white winter was ready to whirl in, with its snowflakes and icicles. No one seemed ready for the overnight switch.

Malcolm and I fell asleep that night to leaves on the ground and a tiny bit of snow.

But when we woke up many hours later, there must've been 5 inches of snow. I was surprised, I thought maybe since fall was so warm, we wouldn't get much snow.

Hopefully this doesn't mean cold spring and summer. We had a chilly summer before coming to university, a warm autumn, and maybe a cold winter and warmer spring and summer?

Anyway.

I woke up and slapped Malcolm on the arm after seeing the snow, attempting to wake him up. He grunts and rolls over. But he opened his eyes. I shrieked at him to look out of a window. So from where he was lying he glanced out of a window, and almost immediately stood up.

"Holy crap." Malcolm chuckled. "I know!" I start, and I run to my dresser. "Get out your warmest clothes!"

Malcolm and I were changed into our warmest attire, and I rushed with him to the front door.

"Ready?"

"Ready."

We ran outside.

And I was right. It was freezing.

It was so nice outside though. Ice on trees that reflected on the rising sun, snow lightly falling, and enough snow on the ground that when you stepped, your feet vanish.
