After class, Marcy had met up with me at a Starbucks close by. We had a long chat before heading back to our dormitory.

"So is Malcolm a struggle?" Marcy asks. "No, actually. He's better when you get to know him." I reply, taking a sip from my hot Peppermint Mocha. "Get to know him?" Marcy mumbles, putting her latte down. "You got to know him?" "Yes, he's one of my best friends now."

"Beth. Get away from him. He's a bad influence."

"Actually he's not, he's sweet. He's just not social, y'know?"

"Sure he's antisocial, it doesn't mean he doesn't have a bad attitude!" Marcy had grown a bit of an angry face.

She opened her mouth to continue, but she didn't say anything. I turn to the door to see Malcolm walking in. He noticed me and walked over.

"Hey Beth." He says, leaning down to kiss my forehead.

I awkwardly look at Marcy, who was gawking at the two of us.

"I didn't know you had a friend." He smiles, sitting on the arm of my chair. "Oh, this is my best friend Marcy. I was gonna room with her, but you came in and ruined everything, you jerk." I joked. "Yeah, jerk. Thanks a lot." Marcy added.

"Well. You two seem to have more fun together than we ever will. I'll just leave now." Marcy scoffed. She lifted up her chin and left.

I sat up and stared at the door. Malcolm stood beside me, and raised an eyebrow. "Harsh. Somebody's on her period."

Malcolm and I were walking home, hand in hand. "So how about that trip?" I ask, looking up at him, putting my chin on his shoulder. "Oh yeah, c'mon, hop in the car." He smiled, opening his car door as we got into the parking lot of the dorm.

I step into the passenger seat and Malcolm gets into the drivers seat. He started up the car and looked at me.

"Road trip!" We yell.
