{Thank you all so much for the kind comments. This is the last time I'll remind you all, the title is 'Chapter Four,' in a different language. Enjoy.}
After that day, things started to get worse in Y/N's life. Such as John hadn't spoken or made contact with her all week. To make a long story short, the amature Patriot spy was lonely and felt as if she had done something to trash her relationship with him.
For about three weeks she had tried to grab the handsome male's attention by pulling dangerous and reckless stunts whenever he was present. She was even desperate enough to get in a fist fight with a soldier twice her size. The least to say was her arm would never be straight ever again.
Little did Y/N know, that John was extremely occupied and it was hurting him to be away from her as well. He just couldn't get to involved with her right now, it wasn't safe to be in love during a war. Fights brought in more and more wounded soldiers and Washington was running out of ideas of where to camp and hide his troops. John was part of planning the stops they would make and help Hamilton.
The three weeks slowly stretched into a few months as Y/N trained with Hercules and went on minor missions. Eventually, she found the one thing that would take the man she loved off her mind for awhile. That was training and spending time with his friends, Hercules and Lafayette. She even hung out with Washington for awhile when she volunteered to help him come up with a battle plan for an upcoming fight.
Y/N actually quite enjoyed Washington and his strict antics. Occasionally if he was in a good mood, she could even get him to drink and talk with her. She even got him to the point where he would laugh and smile more than usual. He once ran into her and offer to take her out, and she would have agreed if he hadn't made it sound so... intimate.
So that was the last time she hung out with him in the middle of the night. There was no way she was going to make their friendly relationship more tight than it already was. Y/N believed no one noticed anything odd about her and the general, yet she was very wrong. John was jealous, no not just jealous, extremely jealous.
She was too busy going about her life she hadn't thought about him much. John however, thought about the attractive young woman almost constantly. He often thought about working up the nerve to ask her out formally, but it was kinda hard to do when the closest to a formal date was strolling around a freezing camp. But when he decided that was what he was going to do, she was already doing so with the general.
That mad him very angry with himself, believing he was too late to advance his relationship with the h/c haired female. What he hadn't noticed was that every time Washington tried to advance on her, she would brush the jests off and continue to treat him as a friend. So after a month of trying to push his feelings aside for the war, he gave in and approached the spy in training.
"Y/N! Y/N wait for a moment, I wish to speak with you!"
He shouted after her once he saw he exit Hercules tent with a book tucked under her arm. At the sight of him she felt the familiar worm of excitement in her chest and stomach, yet she forced down the feeling. Y/N stopped and allowed him to catch up with her before replying.
"Do you need something? Or are you here to finally tell me why you do not wish to spend time with me anymore?"
She snapped as tightened her grip on her thick book, remembering the cause of loosing it in the first place. John hastily replied as he faltered slightly under he withering glare.
"I am truly sorry Y/N, it's just because of all the work and the war. It is very difficult to do my job and please you at the same time. I am here to finally spend time with you that is long overdue."
