Y/N felt her heart racing as she leaned against Hercules and held onto the saddle tightly. She could feel his rapid heartbeat against her back as he steered the horse with difficulty. The horse's heavy and strained breathing was audible as it ran hard, struggling under the weight of three people. She could also hear the sound of horses not far behind them and the yells of British soldiers.
The young woman felt the burning wind against her face as it snowed hard, coating her hair and eyelashes. She saw smoke lifting from the distance, a clear sign that camp was nearby. Hercules urged the horse on, now standing up in the saddle while John struggled to stay on without holding onto his friend. Y/N bent down so the huge male could lean forward and spur the horse harder.
The yells and whoops of the soldiers pursuing them grew louder as the perils of being winded effected their horse. Hercules yelled and whipped the horses side with his book repeatedly, glancing back every once in awhile at the soldiers that were gaining on them. Just as they reached the camp borderline, the horse beneath let out a low wail and collapsed in the snow.
Y/N was flung from the horse and sent tumbling away. Hercules fell to the side of the horse and John had been tossed onto Hercules. The h/c haired woman wheezed and slowly stood up, dazed from the hard fall. John and Hercules also stood up, but the huge spy harbored a sad expression as he glanced at the horse.
"I overworked him, his heart burst."
Y/N stared at the horse that had given it's life for them, guilt visible in her features. The soldiers yells were much more audible now as they neared rapidly. John grabbed Y/N's arm and ran in the direction of camp, Hercules right behind them. The taller male suddenly spun around and ran backwards, a pistol gripped tightly in his hands.
He shot one of the soldiers off his horse and reloaded as quickly as he could, he had turned back around as he did so. John yelled and waved his arms at the camp, hoping to gain someone's attention as the British soldiers were nearly on top of them.
"Grab the girl and shoot the Patriots."
The leading soldier order, obviously in charge of the troop. Y/N shrieked as one of the soldiers grabbed her arm and tried to haul her onto his horse. Hercules shot him off his horse, causing him to drop the frightened woman. John ran back and grabbed her hand before continuing to run towards the camp. He had successfully alerted a soldier on duty and he had went to Washington who yelled for an emergency defense plan.
As Hercules shot and punched the soldiers off their horses John and Y/N gained distance and waved their ams towards the American soldiers that were now forming a defense line on the camp border. John and Y/N raced into the crowd of soldiers that began to shoot at the troop of British soldiers rapidly nearing the camp. Hercules stayed in the front to help the defense line as the shorter male and the h/c haired girl pushed into the large crowd of Patriot soldiers.
All hell broke loose as the two forces met and began to fight viciously. Soldiers cut down each other, shot each others horses, and even fought hand to hand. War cries and yells echoed all around the area as the fight started. Y/N and John pushed past soldiers rushing around and jumping into fights. As a British soldiers tried to shoot John, a random Patriot materialized out of the crowd and tackled him to the ground.
As the two ran around, they finally found Washington who was all the way in the back, giving Lafayette commands. The freckled male tightened his grip on Y/N's hand as he rushed over to the general, breathing heavily. Washington turned to face them, a look of relief on his face at the sight of the two winded Patriots. Y/N gave him a tight hug as John gained his breath behind her.
The h/c haired woman felt tears in the corner of her e/c eyes as she hugged the general tightly, glad to see him. He asked if she was alright and she nodded rapidly before releasing him and giving Lafayette a hug too. The Frenchman was surprised but delighted by the gesture as he hugged her back. Y/N then backed up and stood beside John, wiping the tears of relief from her eyes.
"Once this is over, we have some things to discuss Laurens."
The general snapped at the green eyed male, who lowered his head shamefully.
"Love makes you do crazy things."
Lafayette spoke suddenly in an attempt to defend John.
"Thats no excuse to go running off without a plan and backup."
Washington replied before focusing on the battle happening before them.
"Go Lafayette."
The Frenchman nodded submissively and gave John a sympathetic glance as he walked by and raced into the battle. Y/N ignored the yells and bangs echoing around her as Hamilton suddenly made his way out of the raging battle and raced up to Washington. Before Alexander could speak, the general interrupted him abruptly.
"Take Ms. L/N out of the camp and to the nearest town and stay there until I send for you."
Hamilton opened his mouth to argue but Washington gave him a stern glance, effectively silencing him. Alexander and Y/N watched say something to John who ran into the battle with him after giving Y/N a quick peck on the cheek. The two stood there awkwardly before Alexander broke the silence.
"As much as I hate babysitting, lets go."
He grabbed her hand and tugged her towards the battle, but Y/N sharply yanked back and questioned him.
"Wait, why are we going back?"
Alexander rolled his coffee brown eyes before tightening his grip on her hand and tugging her in the same direction.
"So we don't look suspicious and we have to cut across to go in the direction of town."
The dying yells of soldiers made Y/N shiver as the two raced through the raging fight. Just as they managed to cut through the middle of the battle, Y/N felt a strong around wrap around her throat and yank back, causing her hand to be yanked from Hamilton's. She shrieked and fought against his strong grip as Alexander spun around and grabbed her legs and pulled back.
A bullet shot past Y/N's head and grazed Hamilton's shoulder, causing him to yell in pain and tumble back. He yelled for Y/N as she was yanked back into the fight, crying and fighting the entire way. Y/N knew it was Tarleton by the sound of his voice telling her to shut up and stop struggling. Just as Y/N began to lost hope, the British general suddenly released her. As Y/N turned around and fell onto her rear, she saw Tarleton fighting with a much large male.
It was the general that switched sides, Daniel Morgan. It was quite obvious that Morgan was going to win the fight by how hard he punched Tarleton and sent his sprawling in the snow. Tarleton made one last garb for you, but Daniel brought his heel down on his head and smashed his face into the snow. The American general panted heavily as he walked over to Y/N and helped her up out of the snow.
"I... I don't know how to thank you General Morgan..."
Y/N stuttered but the general cut her off with a raise of his hand.
"There is no need Ms. L/N. Now go."
She nodded and ran over to Hamilton, who was currently applying pressure to his shoulder wound. Y/N helped him up and the two continued to run until the battle faded behind them and the nearby town came into view.
