C H A P T E R 1 6
"That was my first kiss," I murmured.
We didn't have any more homework to do, so both of us just laid down on the bed; His head on my lap as he snuggled closer to me. I was stroking his smooth hair, twirling it around my fingers as he smiled to himself stupidly.
"Same for me," he grinned.
"Really?" I asked, surprised that he hadn't gone this far with his friend before.
"Yeah, why?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Nothing," I scuffed, averting my gaze.
"But I really liked it," he sat up again, looking at me. He licked his lips as if trying to tell me that he wanted another one.
"Yuu, we are only in high-"
He interrupted me with a peck on my lips, making me blush at the sudden touch. He beamed at me, laughing at my reaction. I covered my mouth, as I looked at him with wide eyes. "This idiot..." He rested his head on my lap again, closing his eyes as I continued caressing his hair.
"Can you sing, Juni?" he asked excitedly like a five-year-old that was asking his mother for a lullaby.
"...Only a little," I admitted. "My mother used to sing me a song that she had made especially for me when I was small." [song is provided at the very beginning of the chapter :D]
"Short steps, deep breath
Everything is alright

Step into the spotlight

Somehow without any words
I just stood there
Searching for an answer

He didn't dare avert his gaze from me, it seemed as though he had been mesmerized by the song. "Your voice is beautiful," he mumbled, his cheeks blushing a little.
"My mother was a composer in her early years. Dad told me that I took after her since my voice matches her pretty well," I chuckled. "...but thanks." I smiled, happy to know that he liked it. He buried his face on my stomach, coiling his arms around my waist.
"Wha- Yuu!"
"...Please, just let me stay like this for a while," he murmured sleepily.
"Geez, you are just like a child," I giggled.
"Oh!" he exclaimed loudly, startling me. "Maybe you can join some singing club in school or something!" He cracked a wide smile, and looking at me with a sparkle in his eyes.
"I haven't heard of a music club in our school, though," I murmured, recalling a number of posters in the noticeboards in the hallways of club rooms.
"Then you can start your own!" he cheered with a determined look.
"I have no clue about how to start one and I can't even read notes properly," I whined.
"I-I'll help you!" he cheered even louder.
"All right," I sighed.
"YAHOOO!!!" he whooped.
"NISHINOYA YUU KEEP IT DOWN!" I heard her mother scream from the room next room.
"Now I see where he got the habit of screaming every time," I thought in my head, making a mental note. I tried to calm Yuu down, telling him that it was time to sleep.
He offered his bed to me, but I quickly declined, telling him that I will sleep just fine in a futon. But being the stubborn type, he forcefully pushed me to his bed, pinning me mischievously. Alas, I gave up and slept to the very end of the bed, next to the wall.
