The Living Sparks: Chapter 15

Ryen's P.O.V.

Jaiden finished wrapping up my arm.

Finally, she broke the silence. "You were a little rough on her."

I sighed. "I know. It's just that Trey keeps attacking me and I can't stand it anymore."

"She seemed nice to me." Jaiden grinned. "She probably didn't think the same of me, though. I was a bit rude."

I heard the door open and then slam. We both whirled around. 

A man walked into our dorm.

Ha had black hair and a big build.

His dark eyes seemed to drill holes into me. 

"Jaiden," I murmered, "Run. Now." 

She slipped out of the way and sneeked towards the door.

The man didn't seem to notice.

He was focused on me. "I've got a bone to pick with you." He growled, "So does Trey, and his girlfriend, Dylan."

It felt like he jabbed me in the stomach. 

He walked closer and grabbed me around the neck with his huge hands.

Then, with the simplest of ease, he lifted me off the ground. 

I grabbed at his hands and tried to rip them off of my neck, but he just tightened them.

I spotted Jaiden sneak out of the dorm. 

The man stuck his face in mine and said, "If I see you back here again, I am gonna beat you to a pulp."

Then he turned and threw me at the door.

I slammed into it and felt my head spin.

Then I opened the door and ran. 

I caught up with Jaiden.

It was dark out and she was leaning on a tree at the beach. I stopped next to her. 

I gasped. "Are you ok?"

She nodded, out of breath.

I turned and looked down the beach.

Three figures where coming our way. 

I morphed into an owl and Jaiden morphed into a fox. She slipped back into the shadows, unseen.

With my night eyesight, I noticed that the three animals coming down the beach were a lion, a wolf and a jaguar. (Dang... wouldn't it have been cool if it was lions, and a tiger and a bear? ha ha... OH MY!! --Lianna)

They came, but I was too dazed still to fly.

The three animals surrounded me. 

          <hmm... What have we here?>  [Trey]

          <A pesky animal that needs to be dealt with, if you ask me.>  [Jaguar]

          <I agree, Mike.>  [Trey]

The wolf stayed silent. 

          <Would you like to do the honors, Mike?> [Trey]

The jaguar nodded and crept closure.

I kept my eye on him, only to be swatted at by Trey.

I went flying and slammed into the base of the tree.

I would have to risk it. I flapped my wings and shot into the sky.

The jaguar, Mike, jumped into the sky and his claw caught my wing.

I screeched.

The pain was nearly unbearable.

Mike pinned me down by my wing.

I flapped uselessly. 

Jaiden dashed out of the cover of the underbrush. She bit a chunk out of Mike's leg. 

Mike roared and lift his paw.

He swatted Jaiden out of the way.

She landed on all four paws and dashed back. 

This time Trey interceded. 

I hobbled away, my wing dangling at an awkward angle. 

Jaiden jumped up and grabed hold of Trey's ear. He roared and tried to shake her off, but she held tightly.

Dylan dashed in and grabbed the fox in her jaws.

          <No!>  [me]

Mike dashed and pinned both my wings to the ground. 

Jaiden struggled but then let out a whimper as Dylan tightened her jaws. 

          <We'll let you watch your friend get hurt first.>  [Trey]

Dylan shook Jaiden back and forth viciously.

Jaiden cried out.

Dylan threw her to Trey, who batted the poor fox back and forth between his massive paws. 

With one last swat, he sent the broken and bleeding body of Jaiden into the air.

She hit the tree trunk and fell to the ground.

Jaiden was still.

Mike picked me up and carried me to Trey's feet. 

Darkness was already starting to invade my vision. 

"No!"

Mike, Trey and Dylan all looked over. 

Jaiden was alive.

She had morphed back and was leaning against a tree. 

Trey and Dylan advanced on her.

Then I could only see darkness.

OH MY GOSH!!! I HAD SOO MUCH FUN WRITING THIS CHAPTER!!

Ahem.
