It is the premier night for the new Ghost Adventures episode, it is tradition that the crew will watch the premiers at their homes, sometimes they will live tweet and read reactions of the fans as the episode progresses.
It is only a few minutes until the episode starts playing on the travel channel and Zak is already on the couch ready to watch. "Babe you're going to miss the beginning!"
"I'm coming I'm coming" Leah Blade, Zak's girlfriend for a few years, walks into the living room from the kitchen with a bowl of buttery popcorn and she has two bottles of beer in her other hand. "You're so impatient," she said jokingly. He made way for her, she handed him the bowl of popcorn and set down the beers on their respective coasters. After getting comfortable on the couch next to her boyfriend, Leah grabs her heavy weighted blanket from next to them and she wraps it on both their laps.
Then the episode started playing on the tv, Leah leaned on him and reached for some popcorn and they watched in silence as they focused on their episode. Even though sometimes Zak can't help himself when it comes to talking about what happened at that moment to Leah, she never minded it, he's passionate about what he does so to see him excited about something she wanted to hear all about it.
A couple of television breaks later, they got to the part where after being nailed inside a cabin for some time alone, Jay was starting to lose his mind. He broke down into tears while trying to break down the door that nailed him from his freedom. The spirits were making him feel this way.
"Man...that must've been hard on Jay," Leah says, she reaches for her beer on its coaster and she twists the cap, and takes a drink. She handed Zak him, in case he wanted a drink.
Zak accepts the drink and twists his cap off and takes a drink of his. "Yeah.." he says looking back at the tv. They both could see the absolute fear Jay had in his eyes as he tried to kick down the nailed door, but he had no success.
"You should have nailed Aaron in there, he could have taken it." Zak heard his girlfriend say that so casually, he looked her way and when she noticed the look he gave her she started laughing "I'm serious" she laughed again.
Zak shakes his head and he had to laugh (she's in on all the locking Aaron in the worst places possible memes.) Zak knows about the jokes with the fans of the show, it's just having his girlfriend in on the jokes he felt embarrassed about. "Yeah, I should have."
"I could handle it."
"Oh," Zak nods his head "Is that what you think?"
Leah nods her head "Yeah that's what I know." she laughed again "Send me out there I don't care, the spirits will fear me!" She had an imaginative mind, he could respect that. "Send me with Aaron to all the bad places, we'll be fine."
"You're crazy."
"I will tell Aaron he will be on board"
Zak nods "Oh I'm sure, it will give him the excuse to not be alone out there"
"Spirits love crazy, and with me and Aaron around, they will be all over us!"
Zak sighs, not a bad sigh, just a playful sigh that this woman next to him is driving him crazy. But he didn't mind it, she was being supportive and she loved his friends like brothers as well. This wasn't her first time hinting that she would love to go on an investigation, it just looked so much fun, but Zak never brought her along because of the dangers it could bring. But he wasn't opposed to never letting her come. He just never knew when. "Alright, I will think about it."
"Take allllll the time you need," Leah says as she twists her body sideways and pulls her phone from under her blankets.
"Do not text Aaron" he says, knowing what she was doing, also knowing what she would say if she was texting him.
"I'm not.'' She says with a little high note, her tone told Zak knew she was texting him. He takes her phone from her hand and she covers her hand over her mouth keeping her from laughing as he read her text to Aaron, as he expected she was giving him the idea that she has been telling Zak for the past five minutes, knowing he would love the idea and beg Zak to let her come with them. They're besties.
"So you're not texting Aaron huh?"
"That's another Aaron," She said sarcastically keeping her laughing inside
"Oh really? another Aaron?" he said mimicking her, she nodded "Who is this Aaron then?"
"He investigates ghosts too"
"Oh what a coincidence!" he shouts then he pulls his girlfriend in for a tight hug, she hollers in laughter as his tug caught her completely off guard.
"Let go of me!" she hollers out trying to push him away
"No!" he hugs her tighter, and he laughs with her, her laugh is just so contagious it's hard not to.
"I can't breathe asshole!"
"Fine fine." he lets her go and she catches her then as payback she punches his shoulder, "hey," he says dramatically "that was very rude."
"You are mean" Leah justified
"And you are dramatic," he tells her, in the same tone she used before, but she had her mouth agape taking offense to what he said
"No, YOU, are dramatic Mr. BAGANS." Leah lunges forward as he did to her; she wraps her arms around his neck in a tight hug but she kisses his cheek instead of choking him.
