On the way up to my tutor room, I glanced across the stairs to where my eyes feasted on my friend Bailey. I have no clue how my horrendous personality acquired such a stunning human to be friends with. He’s kind, gorgeous, smart but not a nerd. He even skipped his football match to be with me on my 14th birthday last year. I adore him.
“Hey Laura! We still going to the cinema on Saturday?” his luxurious voice enquired.
“If you still want to.” I remarked with a smile.
“I love it when you smile. You’re adorable!”
Unfortunately, our romantic moment was interrupted by Anna reminding us that we didn’t have all day to ‘hang around having gross conversations’ so we went to our tutor rooms. Much to my devastation, Bailey’s in Mr Radley’s tutor group, where as me and Anna are in Miss Williams’.
“You SO have a crush on him don’t you?” Anna said meaningfully.
“Yup.” I followed, in a dreamy tone. “I do.”
“You’re imagining walking down the aisle with him now aren’t you?” asked my best friend.
“You know me so well.” I concluded.
As we walked into our tutor room, we were faced with many insults.
“LESBIANS!” Sniggered Karl.
“No mate. She goes out with Coby don’t ya?”
“Mhm.” I nodded in agreement.
Trying to pretend I was on a desert island with my mystery crush, I whipped out my notebook and began to draw a dress. It was my ideal wedding dress.
Sometimes, when I draw, the drawing goes really well and I feel as though I can draw anything; but others I can't draw at all and I think about throwing all of my drawings in the bin. Fortunately, today was one of those good days so I decided to plan out my whole wedding.
Above my dream dress I began to draw my head, with my ‘carrot coloured’ hair and then my legs, shoes and accessories. Beside myself, I drew my bridesmaids: Anna, Ayesha and Sophie. Of course Sophie would be wearing black skinny jeans, not a dress and probably the same for Anna too.
Next, I decided to draw the groom. I sketched some shoes, trousers, a suit and then a tie. For his head, I drew a circle with a question mark inside. I didn’t even know who my crush was let alone who I wanted to marry.
I could hear Miss Williams’ harsh voice ring through my ears, telling the class to put everything away and stand behind our chairs. As I gazed over to the door, I caught a glimpse of Liam and Bailey talking outside of the classroom, reminding me that we had maths first.
