I can hear voices but whenever I try and look, there’s nothing there. Am I imagining this? Is this all just a dream? What have I done. I should’ve just let Anna apologise to me and none of this would’ve happened.
Bailey’s still there and I think I can recognise some other voices. With all strength I have, I manage to open my eyes enough to see that Ayesha is chatting up a hot guy and Lukas is flirting with a gay dude. My friends are so caring.
“OH MY GOD YOU’RE FINALLY AWAKE LAURA! I THOUGHT YOU WERE DEAD.” Ayesha yelled in my face. “Anyway, this is Eddie. He goes to Clarington high and he’s on work experience here. I mean...like...he can handle looking at blood.” She finished in a memorised tone.
“Fucking hell Ayesha. Laura just nearly died and all you can talk about is your love life.” Bailey said in a distinguished voice.
“Oh. Sorry. How you feeling then Laura?”
“Gre...eat.” I try to say in a sarcastic manner. “What...happened Bailey? I remember talking to you...and then...black.”
“I think you fainted.” He remarked. “Oh and your mum was sitting here for a while but then she had to go back to work because she had a client threatening to sue her.”
“Bailey. My mum works at the shop across the road. You can tell me the truth.”
“She had to go and make tea for your dad.”
“Oh. That sounds about right.” I replied in an injured tone.
Behind Ayesha and Eddie, I could see that Lukas and his little friend, I’m not even kidding; he must be about 5’, we’re still intensely making out. I asked how they’d met and he replied by saying that him and Philip had just met in the car park, before continuing to make out.
With Ayesha and Bailey’s help, I managed to sit up. Bailey looked nervously at his phone again. What’s he looking at?
“Is everything ok?” I enquire.
“Yeah...fine.” He eventually replied.
He looks like he's about to throw up. I have to find out what he's looking at.
“Bailey. Where’s my phone?”
“Umm...oh it’s here.” He looked around before passing it to me.
I began to type a text to Ayesha.
Don’t show anyone this. Help me take Bailey’s phone off him so can find out what he’s looking at.
She walked over to his chair and pretends to trip over. He, being the kind-hearted 15 year old he is, put his phone down and turned around to help her up. I glanced over to his phone. Damn, he locked the screen.
When he stood up I pretended I’d been trying to get to sleep.
“I’m going to sleep now. You can leave if you want.”
“Ok. Is there anything we can get you?” Bailey questioned.
“No thanks.” I whispered in a sleepy voice.
“Ok see ya later.” He finished and, after everyone had said bye, closed the curtain surrounding my bed.
Tomorrow was going to be interesting.
