It has been 7 months since EJ had proposed to me on top of the roof in Vegas. It is March now and today was the wedding day. Nervousness surrounded me, I knew my choice was right and I wouldn't forget it but I felt unsure. I would not let cold feet come to me, I would marry the love of my life. I had no clue as to what the dressed looked like, since it was a Tyler tradition that the bride be just as surprised to see the dress as the groom is. My mom, EJ's mom, Olivia, Elena, Kristy, Grace, and Alicia had all gone out to choose the dress that I would be wearing today.
Olivia was presently doing my hair in an odd way. She would take two parts on either side of my head and pull it back, clipping it into place. Elena and Grace however were doing my face, I knew they were being careful as to not put on too much make up, since I preferred natural beauty. "Pucker your lips," instructed Elena, she lightly put on some lipstick. "Your almost finished, girlie," Grace said, a smile hinted in her voice. I resisted the urge to clap my hands, I could of sworn I have been sitting down for over two hours, it annoyed me.
"I have two more strands, hold on," said Olivia, tugging at the bottom half of my head. My eyes were closed, as not to ruin the surprise. I felt slightly jumpy, impatience was my middle name at the moment. "Should we show her her?" Grace asked. "Yes," I blurted out, almost without thought or comprehension. They all giggled and said, "All right Katerina, you may open your eyes," Olivia said. I squeezed my eyes shut and blinked them open. I gasped, my face had light shades of make up around it. The lip were a deep red and what I could make out of my hair, it looked magnificent my curls falling into sections.
I shook my head slightly and said, "Amazing! You guys are truly wonderful!" They all were grinning and said, "Want to see your dress?" I slumped a little and said, "Of course I do, I've been waiting ages!" They all smirked and went into my closet. Out came a long gown cover. I chewed on my lip, nervous that it wouldn't be special. Elena slowly unzipped it revealing each part slowly. The top curved down into a v-neck, with silver jewels embedding it with a swirl pattern. It had sort of a triangle type chest area and it came straight down to the floor, with a floral type pattern. They took off the whole cover thing and showed me that the sleeves were down to the crease of my elbow. It was see through lace.
Turning the dress around they showed me that the back was completely bare, besides the fact that up near the neck it clipped together. It was up high enough to just cover my my butt. a sob was chocked in my throat, I loved it! i wanted to wear it now. "No crying," scolded Grace. I laughed and said, I'll try my best. Can I please put it on?!" They nodded and I stood up, my knees cracking as I did so. I took the silky fabric into my hands and felt a weird sensation course through me. I stripped off my robe and with the help of everyone I stepped into my dress and got it on after the third try.
There were no zippers or buttons to do so it was simple. The wedding was going to take place at EJ and my spot over the pond. It was spring so everything was in bloom and the ground wasn't as soggy. I heard a squeal and turned to see my mom coming into the room. her hair was in a messy bun a top her head and the smile on her face never faded a second. She gave me a hug and said, "You look so beautiful and grown up!" I smiled, but it wasn't until someone else came into the room did I get really excited. I stepped past mom and yelled, "Aunt Megan!"
She flashed me a smile and said, "I couldn't let my favorite niece's wedding go unattended." She had left for Rhode Island to be with her husband at the same time I moved with my parents and I hadn't seen her ever since. "I missed you," I whispered, blinking back the tears that threatened to fall. "Well we need to get this show on the road now don't we, girlie," she said, rubbing my back a little. I nodded, stepping back. I looked around and noticed that everyone but Megan, mom, and I remained in my old room.
"Your father is downstairs waiting for us, we shouldn't keep him waiting," mom said, taking my hand into hers. I nodded, taking a quick breath I followed mom and Aunt Megan out the door and down the stairs. I was wearing white high heeled boots, but my legs were shaky so it was slightly harder to walk in them than usual. I heard a whistle as I made my way down the final step. I blushed, my dad had been the one to whistle at me. "You look beautiful, baby girl. Come on though, we wouldn't want to be late for your wedding ceremony," he said, gently taking my hand. Mom and Aunt Megan made their way ahead of us.
We had placed a carpet across the forest, so that my dress was not to be ruined. I stepped onto and followed everyone down the twists and turns. I stopped once we had reached where a blue ribbon was tied to a tree. All my bridesmaids, including my maid of honor was standing there. Music began to play and I watched Annabella walk down the aisle dancing as she through the flowers. Nickolas was the ring bear he followed swiftly behind her. It was the bridesmaids and their dates turn to go.
I watched Elena walk down with Jason, whom to my great surprise was EJ's best man. Elena and Jason had soon fallen in love after we had graduated high school and as I disliked it much I allowed it to be. Grace walked down the aisle with her boyfriend Ethan and Alicia followed last with her love Jacob. I smiled, we were all a united circle of friendship and love! My dad locked his elbow through mine and I held on tight, as it was my turn to walk down the aisle. I took in slow, meaningful breaths as I walked past my family, friends, schoolmates, and who knows whom else was there.
I lifted my head up and my gaze immediately fell upon EJ. His hair was gelled back, I knew I would have to tussle it later, and he was wearing a formal, but very suitable black tux. He had a blue and green flower hanging from the pocket. As I reached the alter EJ's parents stopped me, so they could do their odd Knight tradition. The mother was to place a kiss on each cheek and the father was to place a kiss on the brides forehead to signal their acceptance. It was weird, but I did not mind. my dad gave me a kiss on the head, and then lent me off to EJ.
EJ's hands were clammy in mine, but I did not mind, all I could do was stare into his magical green eyes. Reciting the vows was quick and easy. Nickolas gave us our rings and we said our final 'I do's'. "You may now kiss the bride," the preacher said. I closed my eyes and sparks flew like fireworks around the kiss EJ gave me. Passion enveloped me and I felt giddy knowing that I was now I Katerina Knight.
In my mind it sounded beautiful. The kiss broke sooner than I wanted, a pouted flickered on my face, but then I was being whisked off through the crowd of my friends and family and into the forest. EJ swung me into his arms and we ran off towards the house where the reception was to be held. He kissed me and spinning me around he set me on my feet. Everyone had followed our lead and music turned on beginning the reception.
It was mixed up with many different greetings and congradulations. I did not sit down once and I was relived for the food to be served. I did not eat much, because all I could do was concentrate on EJ, he was my love, my life, and my happiness. I could not imagine anything besides being in love with him for always. Our honeymoon was going to be on an island off the coast of Ireland and I was excited.
I was pushed out into the limo that awaited to take EJ and I to the airport. I waved by to my family and friends as we drove off into the darkness. "Are you ready, little dove?" EJ questioned, in a light voice. I sucked in a breath and responded, "Yes." I was ready for my life to begin with the love of my life and I could not wait to start a family together.
