Today I decided, well maybe not I technically, but Elena made a plan for us girls to have a day to pamper ourselves. Fun idea! I just really wasn't in the mood for it. We were to go to Port Angeles to spend our day. Next thing you know I am having the worst hair day of my life! Elena would question it and as would Alicia and Grace. I pulled it back into a high ponytail hoping it would make do and not disappoint the others.
I grabbed my keys off the counter and made my decent down the stairs, running into my dad. "Where are you going, sweetheart?" he asked me, almost like he was in a distant place. "Out to Port Angeles, with Elena, Grace, and Alicia," I replied, looking my dad up and down. He nodded, walking past me up the stairs. I raised my eyebrows, hoping that brushing it off was all right. As I stepped down off the stairs Arabella came up and took a hold of my leg, "Don't leave sissy," she pleaded, looking behind her. I saw Nickolas holding a knife and a fork, not fake ones either.
I picked Arabella up and went to go take the silverware from Nickolas. "Nickolas, please give me the knife and fork. I swear I will not hurt you," I said, walking up to him at a slow, non menacing pace. He held them up and as I reached for the fork he poked me with it. "Ow! Nickolas!" I ran after him, tackling him down on the carpeted floor, taking the silverware away from him. I brought it back into the kitchen and wrapped a bandage around my now bleeding hand.
What was wrong with my household today? Who the heck would allow four year old to handle a knife, without supervision! I shook my head and walked out to my car. Swinging myself in, I smiled at my purse. The garage was open so I pulled right out and started head to Port Angeles. My phone started ringing off EJ's tone so I used my voice command thing and said, "Answer." The robotic voice said, "Answering call from EJ Knight, using Katerina's Blackberry." I laughed it always made me laugh, "Hey Little Dove," said EJ.
"Hey EJ, what's up?" I said, stopping at a traffic light. "I was wondering what you were up to today," he said. I pouted a little and replied, "I am currently heading to Port Angeles for a day with the girls, sorry EJ." He sounded slightly hurt as he said, "Oh, okay. Hey, I thought you said you wouldn't talk on the phone in the car anymore." I snickered and replied, "Hands free driving, love. Comes in hand." He laughed and said, "Oh, really, well then." I shook my head and took off driving down the road after the signal turned green, I got cut off getting onto the highway, and I hit my horn.
"I can hear the horn, what up?" EJ asked, I honestly almost forgetting I haden't hung up. "Some jerk pulled out in front of me, I am fine though," I said through gritted teeth, then I looked closely at the car. It was a dark blue Volkswagen Jetta. "EJ sorry, I have to pay a call to my dear friend Elena, love you bye. End call," I said to EJ and then the device. "Ending call with EJ Knight, would you like to place another call?" The phone asked me. "Yes, call Elena Taylor." The device said, "Okay, calling Elena Taylor, using Katerina's Blackberry."
A few rings went off before Elena finally picked-up, "Ello love," said Elena teasingly. "Hey mate, what was with cutting me off?" Elena snickered and said, "Couldn't resist?" I shook my head and asked, "Did you think I couldn't notice?" Elena laughed and replied, "I like the sound your horn makes." I stuck my tongue out at Elena's car and said, "Yeah, I bet it was quite lovely!" I heard a screeching sound and saw Elena's car slow and I pressed the brakes to mimic her movement. "Guess Alicia is joining the game," Elena said, sounding frustrated.
I looked passed Elena's car and sure enough I saw a bright yellow Ford truck right in front of Elena. Alicia had it get painted from its original white color, claiming it too common of a color. "Incoming call from Alicia Travis," my phone told me. I knew I could have a two way conversation between Elena, Alicia, and I. "Answer," I said. "Hey Katerina," said Alicia, her voice pumped. I shook my head and said, "You do realize that you cut off Elena, whom I am behind." It took Alicia a second to reply and then she said, "Oh, I actually didn't see the Jeep. I only saw Elena's Jetta. Sorry." I laughed and said, "It is fine Licia, but Elena will kill you later."
"Are you having more than one conversation?" Elena asked. "Yes, I am don't worry, Elena. i am not pretending to talk to Alicia," I replied. "Hey Katerina," I heard Grace's voice through the phone and then I remembered her car got taken away for so called "reckless driving." "Hey Gracie, who ya with?" I asked. "With Alicia," she replied. I nodded, seemed likely since they are neighbors. "Okay you guys, I am hanging up, see you guys in Port Angeles," I said. "End call with Elena Taylor and Alicia Travis." The phone cut off the calls and I drove in silence the rest of the way to Port Angeles.
When I got into the city, I made my way to the dress shop that we agreed on meeting at. I paralleled parked in between a mustang and a corvette and jumped out. I ran to the sidewalk and soon spotted everyone else making their way down the sidewalk to me. "How did you get here so fast??" questioned Elena as she made it over to me. I pointed to my car and then looked back at her. "Really?? I didn't even see that spot," Elena moaned. Alicia spoke up and said, "I saw it, but my truck would have murdered the people's cars." We all nodded and turned to go look around in the dress shop.
We spent hours searching through every single clothing shop in Port Angeles, I only ended up buy a few shirts and a couple pairs of pants. I also told them about Nickolas and the knife and fork. "Are you sure your brother is sane?" Grace asked when I told her. I shook my head and replied, "I question it, everyday. My parents aren't meant to produce men, only women." We all giggled at the comment and as we turned a corner we were instantly surrounded by a group of four guys.
"Hey pretty ladies, nice of you to join us," one guy said, with curly sand blond hair said. He was bulky, but with muscle. I narrowed my eyes and said, "Well you actually joined us and I would suggest you leave us be." A shorter, but equally strong boy with red hair said, "Wow, a feisty one. Pretty thing are ya?" He said it in a question and it was going to be a question going unanswered. "Hey, aren't you that movie star, um, um Katerina Tyler! That's it," probably the oldest of the four boys, spoke. He had russet colored hair and amazingly scary gold hazel eyes.
I heard retreating footsteps behind me and the last of the four guys, the youngest with brown hair that hung in his face said, "Aw, well, a movie star beats the rest anyways." I turned quickly and saw Alicia, Grace, and Elena making their hasty retreat, they were running faster than I thought they would be able to. I turned back to the guys and they were gaining in on me. "Don't you dare touch me!" I literally growled. "Yep, feisty," said the eldest boy. He gripped my arm and I instantly kicked him in his tenders. He fell to the ground in pain.
"You made a big mistake," said the youngest boy. Without second thought, I sprinted. I was faster than the boys since I was lighter. "Come back here," one of the boys called. I closed my eyes for a second and then pushed as hard as I could, managing to get to my car. Quickly unlocking it, I threw myself inside. Quickly moving myself over to the drivers side, I quickly started the car. Moving myself into the flow of traffic I felt safer, though I was ticked at the others for abandoning me.
On my drive home, they tried to call me numerous times, but each time I declined. Friends were great? Well my friends leave me as bait for people who could possible rape me or worse... I shuddered at the thought, pulling up into my driveway. I knew tomorrow I wouldn't be able to hang out with EJ since he had already informed me of his plans with the boys.
That night going to bed, I felt sad, but I went into a dreamless sleep.
