AUTHORS NOTE:Hey guys! It's been a really long time, bet you're surprised to see me back again!
I've had a really rough time of it the past few years. Moved, got stabbed, moved again, got shot at a few times, got on drugs, got off drugs, moved again, got engaged, got pregnant, broke off my engagement and moved again, had a bouncing baby boy, and I'm about to move AGAIN. Life's rough.
Anywho. I'm back to this story because no matter how many times I tell myself I don't have the time to write, that I'll never find inspiration again, I keep coming back here. To this one tale I started on a whim and then abandoned when my depression and anxieties got to be too much for me to bear.
I'm not sure if it's too little too late, but I'm going to keep this story going in the hopes that it will help reignite the passion I once held for storytelling. Maybe one day I'll even get back to finishing my trilogy. Who knows?
For now expect some revisions. I'm going to go through and revise this entire tale piece by piece, and once that's done I'm going to have one chapter out about every week. I have ideas for where I want this to go and how I want it to end, and seeing as how so many people love what I'm doing with it I just can't help but feel that this is the perfect place to start building my love of writing up once more.
So if you've read this already, feel free to reread it. I'm gonna change some things here and there, add more details I didn't think of before, and press on with making this the best goddamn fan fiction I've ever written.
Just to wrap this up, thank you so much to all the people that keep coming to my story and leaving me all these wonderful comments. I never imagined thousands of people would want to read what I put so much into, and it brings tears to my eyes to think that I'm doing something worthwhile. You make this worthwhile, every one of you that reads this.
Enjoy!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(AANG'S POV)
I couldn't believe what I was seeing. I had come home early one day, ignoring Toph's insistence that I stay and practice earthbending with her. I'd wanted to see Katara.
We had been going through what Sokka called a 'rough patch'. I was spending too much time practicing my bending and not enough time with her, as she put it. While that was the only reason she gave I couldn't help but feel there was something more. We shared chaste kisses in private places, and I knew she wanted to go further but I couldn't bring myself to do so. Despite it being a much different time than 100 years ago, I still wanted to hold my peoples traditions, one of which was celibacy until marriage. But we're just kids, not ready to be married yet.
This morning in particular we had a huge fight about how she feels I'm neglecting her, and it only ended because Toph pulled me away to train. Now however, I had calmed down and wanted to try and find a peaceful compromise. I landed outside our home, flipping my glider shit and pushing open the front door.
"Katara! I'm home, we need to-"
Rounding the corner my words caught in my throat. Katara was seated in Haru's lap on our living room couch, and from what I could tell, they still had no idea I was here. His hands were wound through her hair where she had only let mine be, her lips that were supposed to be for kissing me all over him. I opened my mouth to speak again and no noise came out. Tears filled my eyes and I made a strange choking noise, drawing their attention.
Katara's eyes snapped open and she leaped off of Haru's lap, cheeks flushed and lips parted in words I was too distressed to hear.
I turned and ran as fast as I could back out the doors, leaving a trail of dust behind me and passing Sokka, who looked very confused, and a distressed Toph trying to say something. Her words fell on deaf ears.
I flipped my glider open again and launched myself into the air, my tears making it hard to see as I frantically fled home to go somewhere, anywhere but here.
