Once again Gabriella awoke to a wooden floor and Trey restrained next to her. We really need to find a way to protect ourselves, hopefully this isn't another batty old lady. Trey stirred and woke, his eyelids fluttering.
"Again? seriously! " He cursed under his breath and tried to move his restrained arms into a more comfortable position.
It seemed like years had passed by the time footsteps were heard outside the door. Keys jingled on a ring and the tumbler in the door made satisfying thud as it unlocked and the door swung inwards revealing not an old woman but a young boy, maybe fourteen. He had a smirk on his face and eyes that should've been filled with childish joy were cold and dark.
"Well, I see that you have been in here for a while. You must be starving." He motioned for the guard and he unlocked their chains. "Come. Eat with me and explain why I shouldn't kill you for trespassing." Gabriella noted his voice sounded vaugley European, maybe French.
The halls echoed every sound and were filled with a strong scent of jasmine. Gabriella admired the design and skill it must've taken to build such an incredible palace...dungeon. Her thoughts were interrupted by a man standing, staring straight at her. He had one eye the color of the Caribbean sea and the other was dark as espresso.
She couldn't look away from his gaze, her limbs became numb and refused to move. Then the man looked away and she was released from her trance.
Trey spoke, his voice thick with curiosity. "Hey Gaby, are you all right?"
She shook herself, "Yes,yes... I'm fine..." She waved him off and continued walking right past the man with the different colored eyes.
Soon after, they came to doors, huge, intimidating, ornate, wooden doors. They young boy walked theough them and gestured for his prisoners to follow. He went and sat at the head of a table, it was covered in mouthwatering food and the clearest water Trey had ever seen. The guards lead Trey and Gabriella to their seat beside the the boy.
"Please, eat all you want. I had it made especially for you." And without further invitation the two began to pile food onto their plates.
"So. I'm wondering what it is that you're doing here, in my kingdom." He eyed the two strangers warily."Please... do explain." Just as Gabriella raised her arm to grab another roll, her shoulder pain returned, almost spilling all of her food. She grimaced in pain but managed to hide it,
"Before we do, might I ask where, when, and who you are?"
"Of course. I, miss, am Nicholai King of Maldov, of the great west kingdoms in Colomaindia. It is the seventh season in our kingdom, the year 1784. May I ask the same from you?"
Trey spoke, "I am Trey Knightingale from Britain, the year 1313." The king raised an eyebrow but did not interrupt.
"And I am Gabriella Jameson from Minnesota in the United States, from the year 2013." By then the king looked slightly confused but still curious. Gabriella and Trey ate for a while while the king seemed to be organizing his thoughts.
"I see, but then how did you get here, in 1784 and in Colomaindia? Gabriella took one last bite from her roast then began the story from beginning to end.

"So she gave you no clues as to what you are supposed to be doing here? None at all?" Trey and Gabriella shook their heads as the castle doctor set her shoulder and created a sling. "Well I must say, this Miss Bagetha sounds like a trickster, she gives you an impossible quest and gives you no ideas as what to do about it." Nicholai tapped his chin thoughtfully. "Although, war is stirring here in Colomaindia. Maybe if you help us with this it may lead you in the right direction, towards The Great Clan." He said warily. Suddenly, the man with two eyecolors burst through the door.
