It was a peaceful night indeed;
People were murdered
Women were raped
Children starved.
I just close my door to it all and my heart follows.
It was a quiet night indeed;
Mouths of the hungry wailed
Hearts of the lonely lamented
Shrieks of terror echoed through war-torn walls.
I just put on my headphones, washing it all away.
It was a beautiful night indeed;
Poison spewed into the blackened sky
Animals and men laid slain on Mother's chest
A tree falls in the woods for no one to hear
I just stare out the window, lost in my ignorance of dreams.
It was the perfect night indeed;
My heart was abandoned and soulless
A song of death fluttered sweetly into my ears
The car was flipped-I didn't hear the tree
I just lay on the ground, my life escaping from the cuts in my chest.
