It's midnight and the moon
reflects off water its milky face.
I hear your heart through my screen.
How it throbs with joy when I say you're beautiful;
I feel your smile light up my room
Because you tell me no one calls you that.
It's one a.m. and we
Are in bed together in different rooms.
Your parenthesis smile is on my lips.
It felt so easy, falling in love with you -
I woke up from my nightmares and saw you there,
holding me close, your warm breath chilling my skin.
It's two a.m. and you
Have to go now, the warmth has gone.
I feel sick now, like my heart is bleeding.
It's dripping from my lips; I wipe my eyes.
I felt you on my hips; I turn on my side.
As my own eyes close, I
dream of seeing you again in the morning.
