Her heart came to him
on a 4 x 5 postcard,
black ballpoint pen,
a Thailand photo background.
he would read it often,
smiling at her attempts to speak his language;
he couldn't speak hers.
She was the girl from Maoming,
Her head filled with dreams
of basketball players and American Pop.
Their hearts touched in the ink,
and they missed each other's faces-
faces they've never seen before.
He learned her language
and vows to meet her one day.
The girl from Maoming,
he awaits her penned heart once more.
