"Ashton?" I walked back into the living room trying not to cry, "I need to go home right now."

"Is everything alright?" Ashton rushed over to me and grabbed my hand, "Are you okay?" He placed his other hand on my cheek.

"I don't know but I need to go home, so I guess I'll see you tomorrow," I smiled and hugged Ashton before rushing to the front door. I opened the door and turned around to Ashton who was walking back into the living room. "Ashton!" He turned around. "Thank you for having me over," I smiled and exited the house.

I ran over to my house next door and pulled on the door that was luckily unlocked.

"Mom?" I yelled into the quiet house. I turned and saw all the family photos that were once neatly placed on the fireplace were now smashed, cracked, and scattered across the living room floor. I turned the corner into the kitchen and saw my mom sitting at the table crying into her hands.

"Mom?" I repeated quietly as I walked up behind her and sat next to her. She slowly lifted her face and her eyes were bloodshot red from crying and her cheeks were soaked with tears.

"Livia, I'm so sorry..."

"Sorry? Mom, this isn't your fault. If it's anyone's fault, it's mine." It really was fault though. If I hadn't have pissed off David by leaving with Ashton this morning, he wouldn't have done any of this.

"Sweetheart, this is not your fault at all" she started sobbing again.

I rubbed her shoulder, "I'm gonna go upstairs and rest, tell me if you need anything."

I got to my room and flopped tiredly on my bed. I shoved my face into my pillow and started crying.

After a while I heard a knock. I lifted my head from my pillow and looked towards my door. Mom is probably just checking on me.

I don't really want her to know I was crying, so I walked to my mirror to wiped the tears from my face.

I walked to the door and opened it to see Ashton standing in front of me, nervously rubbing the back of his neck. Wow, he's adorable.

"Hey," he smiled at me.

"Ashton?" I nervously rubbed under my eyes to hide to fact that I was crying.

"I just wanted to check on you, sorry if I'm intruding-"

"No no, you're fine," I giggled at Ashton's awkward nervousness.

He smiled revealing his dimples, "Are you okay? You look like you were crying..." his smile faded.

"I'm fine," I lied.

"Livia..."

"Really, I'm fine," I'm a horrible liar. "Here, come in," I changed the subject after realizing Ashton was still standing in the hallway. He came in and I closed the door behind him.

"Your mom told me to tell you to keep the door open," Ashton turned and said to me.

I sighed, "Are you going to do anything so I need to keep the door open?"

"No, but..."

"So the door doesn't need to open and trust me, my mom just wants to eavesdrop." I know my mom trusts me, but she always tries to listen in on all my conversations.

I sat down on my bed and Ashton leaned on the wall across from me.

"Would you like to sit down?" I patted the spot next to me on the bed. Ashton smiled and came over and sat next to me.

"Thank you for actually caring about me, Ash." I looked away from Ashton and I could tell he was still looking at me. I turned back to him and he turned away nervously.

"No problem, really," he smiled, still not making eye contact.

I leaned over and lightly kissed Ashton's cheek. He quickly turned to face me with a confused face that turned into a weird smirk.

"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have done that," I nervously tucked my hair behind my ears, avoiding eye contact, "Sorry..."

I felt his hand go under my chin and he lifted my face to look him right in the eyes. He started to lean in to kiss me and I don't know why, but I didn't try to stop him. I just let it happen. We were inches from kissing until my mom yelled at me from downstairs.

"Livia!"

It kinda brought me back to reality. I jumped up and ran out, leaving Ashton alone in my room.

"Yeah, Mom?" I called when I got to the end of the hall.

"Honey, it's dinner time. Can you wake Josh up?"

"Sure, be there in a minute," I rushed back to my room.

I banged on Josh's door and yelled "Dinnertime!" as I passed, hoping that it qualifies as an attempt to wake him up.

I got back to my room and told Ashton my family was having dinner so he got up and followed me downstairs.

We walked to the front door and I hugged him. I wrapped arms around his neck and whispered, "Thanks again," as he held me tight.

"Livia, did your stepdad leave?" he whispered and pulled back enough to look into my eyes without letting go of me. I slowly nodded, not wanting to believe it myself. "Did he break all those pictures?" I nodded again. "I'm sorry." I bit my lip to stop myself from crying again.

Ashton pulled me close and hugged me really tight before letting go and leaving.

I turned around and saw my mom and Josh were both standing in the other room, watching with big smiles.

"Looks like little Livy's got a crush," Josh teased and I punched him in the arm.
