"Why did you leave?" asked Cloud. He was the person who you were about to attack.
You let your arms fall to your sides. " I-" you sighed, " I didn't want any of you to get hurt." And you looked at the ground.
He stayed quiet for a moment then he spoke. "Why?"
When you looked up at him, he was staring at you. "Well, you don't have that much ammo and fighting the zombies with nothing other than bats and metal bars, is not such a good idea. I care for all of you. I-I just can't let any of you to get hurt." And with that you turned around. You weren't sure what time it was but you had to get going or you wouldn't be able to find a safe place for the place.
Cloud said nothing else and walked at your side. In his hand rested a metal bar, he seemed to be distant and was thinking.
You guys walked for what seemed hours and the only places around were small stores and a few houses but weren't safe to spend the night. Some of the walls of the houses were destroyed and the windows of the stores were broken.
The day was setting down and you wondered if you were going to find a place to stay. You had told Pein that you would find a place but it was easier said than done. Then a house caught your eye, it seemed to be in pretty good conditions so you headed that way. You opened the door, and you entered looked at the sides and then continued. Cloud was behind you. A growl escaped your lips, from frustration and anger, the back of the house was completely destroyed. It was your only hope and yet it was uninhabitted, but it couldn't be used. You headed upstairs to where Cloud was and a zombie seemed to notice your presence for it made his way to where Cloud was. Cloud was crouching and searching in one of the drawers, but failed to noticed the zombie, which was only a few feet away.
You ran as fast as you could and grabbed your katanas. With a quick move, you jumped on the bed and with your leg, kicked the side the zombie's head. It stumbled a bit but then tried to attack again. With your katana, you slashed the head and it rolled on the floor.
With sight, you sat on the bed and dropped your head, your hair covered your face. Cloud stood in front of you, and then crouched. "Let's go, we need to get on time and tell the rest." He told you.
You made fists, what were you supposed to tell them? That there was no place to spend the night. They barely had ammo and the zombies were too fast to attack them with bats or metal bars. Sure, Cloud had fought with a metal bar, but he is strong but others weren't physically strong to make a strong hit.
"Why, do you worry so much? You barely know them and yet you are willing to risk your life." It was surprising to hear Cloud talk, he was always silent.
You lifted your head and stared at him he was crouching in front of you.He stared waiting for you to answer. Then his hand made its way to your cheek, when it was close, Cloud seemed hesitant. Then he caressed your cheek. "You're so different...." he trailed off and then his face came closer to your face. A tint of pink covered your cheeks and then a pair of some lips touched yours. His hand still rested on your cheek and he just stayed there for a few seconds before a gunshot was heard at the distance. Cloud pulled away and left without saying anything, you followed in pursuit trying to find out what was going on outside but you were a bit shaken from what Cloud had done.
In one of the stores, a raven man with muscular body was shooting at a bunch of zombies. Three guys were fighting at his side. They stepped back and were shooting at the same time. Cloud ran to his aid, and with the metal bar he was holding, smashed the head of a zombie that was about to attack them from behind.
You grabbed your katanas and in seconds were at Cloud's side. Grumbling and shouts were the only sounds going on. There weren't that many zombies around so you all finished. Around you all were arms, legs and heads detached from the bodies. A few zombies had holes in their heads and others were smashed.
The new guys turned around and stared when you were cleaning your katanas, on the corpeses' clothing. Someone coughed and you turned around once you were done. You hadn't noticed but some of the guys seemed to know Cloud since they some of them were giving him goofy smiles.
Cloud turned around, "[Name], this is Angeal, Zidane, Balthier, and Zell." He faced his friends, " this is [Name]."
You shook their hands and they did the same. "I suppose you don't have a place to stay?" you had to ask.
They looked at each other. Zell and Zidane scratched the back of their heads. Looking at the ground, you stayed silent. Damn, this was going to be harder than you thought. You had hoped that you would be able to find a decent place but you failed, and just that thought made you angry. How were you supposed to help them?
"[Name], don't worry. We'll come up with something." Came Cloud's soft and worried voice. He placed a hand on your shoulder and you raised your head to look at him. He gave you a small smile and squished your shoulder a bit, trying to comfort you.
With a nod you smiled back. "Thanks." Then you looked back at the staring guys. "We should get going." And then Cloud removed his hand. You started to walk and the rest followed. The katanas were still in your hands, ready to be used in case you were attacked.
