The lone tree
Sits by itself in the middle of a grassy meadow
The lone tree
Is where my parents first met
The lone tree
Is where they went on there first date
The lone tree
Is where they had there wedding
The lone tree
Is the first place my parents took me
The lone tree
Is where I went when my parents died
The lone tree
Is where I met my first friend
The lone tree
Is where my friend died
The lone tree
Is an ironic name
Cause the lone tree
Doesn't make me feel alone
But a safe place
A place like home
Ezra's P.O.V
I woke up to someone shaking me. I focused my vision and saw Zeb shaking me. "I'm up," I said sitting up and rubbing my eyes. "Took ya long enough," he grumbled, "it's almost lunch time". I was wide eyed at how long I slept for. 'Did I really sleep that long?' I thought. Zeb left the room and I hopped out of bed. I ran out of the room and to the cockpit. I entered and saw Hera and Chopper working on the controls.
Hera looked up and smiled. "Good morning sleepy head," Hera said, "Have a good nap?". I scratched the back of my head and smiled goofily. "Yeah um, what's today's date?" I asked her. "November 21st," she said, "Why?". "I just wanted to know, thanks," I said and left the cockpit.
I went to the ramp and opened it up. I then ran to 'the place', the lone tree. The lone tree was a very ironic name to me cause I never felt alone when I was there. Today was the day my friend died at the lone tree. She was waiting for me and climbed the tree. She fell and broke her neck ending her life quickly.
I finally made it to the tree and stood under it. My friend dreamed of having her grave under this tree. I dug the grave for her and laid her in it when I found out she was dead. Now I stand before the very grave that held my first friend. "Hi Macy," I said sitting next to the grave. I remember the first time me and Macy met. She changed my life to who I am today when I thought all hope was lost.
*a jump to the past*
Third person's P.O.V
A thirteen year old Ezra just sat down next to his favorite tree and watched the wind blow the tall dried grass. It was a peaceful day but he felt a bit down and restless. He hoped for the return for his parents ever since that day they were taken. Yet, his hope was fading and the past five years felt like a drag.
Ezra was lonely and had no one to help him through his time of need. Little did he know that was about to change when a simple orange leaf fell from the tree. Then another and another until he was curious with all the leaves falling from the tree.
He stood up and looked into the tree. Ezra was surprised to see a little girl with little over the shoulder brown hair and gleaming curious turquoise eyes. She looked to be about about seven years old. The girl looked at him and smiled brightly. "Hi mister," she chirped and waved at Ezra.
