Alive?! 2

Ezra's P.O.V

I was starting to wake up and looked around with wonder. 'Where am I?" I thought, then everything started to become more clear. My eyes widen when I realized that I was in an imperial cell. How did I get here?! Suddenly, the door opened revealing Maul.

   "Hello apprentice," he slickly said. I let out a little growl. "Where am I?" I demanded and he seemed to keep his cool with a chuckle. "Relax apprentice," he said, "or else mommy and daddy might be trouble." My eyes widen when I heard that, "where are they?!" "Oh, don't worry about that," Maul said, "I'm sure they will be thrilled to see you again."

I glared at Maul when the door shut making the room pitch black. I gathered my thoughts and wondered what happened. What happened to my parents? How did I get here? What happened to the crew? I wasn't sure how long it was when the door opened again.

I looked up to be expecting Maul again but to my surprise, it was my parents. I was happy to see that they were ok but something about them was off. "Mom? Dad?" I said unsure of why they were so quiet and still. I couldn't tell what their expressions were, cause there faces were covered in a shadow.

Dad tossed me my lightsaber and I caught it. "Uh, tha-" I was cut off when both of them jumped at me, igniting blood red lightsabers. I quickly turned mine on and blocked their attacks. "What are you doing?" I asked and pushed them back.

Their response was attacking me again and I got a closer look at them. Both of their faces were blank and their eyes looked like they've been drained of any kind of life. I force pushed them into a wall and ran out the door, closing it behind me. I turned my head to find Maul standing there, smiling.

"What did you do to them?!" I yelled angrily. "Why would you think I did anything to them?" He asked, "What if this was their choice?" I shook my head cause I knew that my parents loved me.....right? "No, you did something to them," I said, "Why are they trying to kill me?!"

"You're smart enough to figure it out cause either way it's kill or be killed," he said. My eyebrows knitted together in anger. Then I jumped back when two lightsabers plunged through the door and forming a circle. I ran down the opposite hall where Maul stood and made a bunch of turns. 'I'm surprised Maul didn't get lost in here, this place is like a maze!' I thought making a couple more turns.

I reached a dead end and was about to turn around when I saw a red light illuminate on he wall. I slowly turned around and saw my parents standing at the end of the hall with Maul behind them. "Well apprentice, either you kill them or I will or they will kill you," Maul said. "I rather die than be your apprentice!" I shouted.

"Suit yourself," he said darkly and both of my parents ran towards me when I finally figured it out. Maul was brainwashing my parents. I was going to get Maul but I saw that he disappeared. Now my only worry was my parents. Both of them stood in front of me and were about to stab me. I closed my eyes and accepted that I was going to die.

But nothing happened. There was no pain. I opened my eyes and saw the two fighting against being controlled. "E-Ezra, get out of here," dad said. "We c-can't hold i-it much longer," mom added. "I'm not leaving without you," I said and they had sorrow in their eyes. "T-then there is only one way," dad said and mom knew what it was too.

"What is it?" I asked. "We love you," they said and then I finally realized what they were about to do. "N-no, please don't," I stuttered with tears forming in my eyes. "E-Ezra," mom said, "Close your eyes." "No, there has to-" "Ezra!" Dad yelled interrupting me then smiled, "listen to your mother." I shook my head in defeat and closed my eyes and covered my ears.

I could hear two faint screams and cupped my hands into my ears more. My eyes were shut tight like they were screwed shut. I didn't want to open my eyes so I used the force to help me walk past them. I didn't look back, I just ran down the halls and leaving my parents to rest in piece.

"Ezra!" I heard Kanan's voice yell from down the hall. "Kanan!" I yelled back and ran towards him. I stood in front of him and he laid his hands on my shoulders. "Are you ok? Where are your parents?" He asked, "what's wrong?" "I'll explain when we get back to the ship," I said and Kanan nodded. We walked towards the new Phantom and climbed in.

I sat on a seat and pulled my legs up to my chest. Once Kanan had us in hyperspace, he came back and sat next to me. "Ezra, what happened?" He asked softly. "The only thing I remember was waking up in that imperial cell on that abandoned ship," I said, "then Maul was there and brainwashed my parents to kill me." "Do you know why?" Kanan asked a bit shocked cause he knew that Maul won't hurt me on purpose.

"Who knows what goes through that twisted mind of his these days," I said, trying the lighten the mood. "What happened to your parents?" Kanan asked. "They fought back against the control and-and..." I didn't want to say the rest and I could tell that Kanan understood. I laid my head on my knees and tried to calm down but it wasn't working.

Tears slid down my face and my breathing was rapid. I felt Kanan pull me into a hug and I leaned into the touch. We were like that for a while until I pulled out of his arms and wiped my eyes. "Thanks, Kanan," I said great full. "No problem, Ezra," Kanan said patting my shoulder.

"So, what happened?" I asked, "I don't remember what happened accept waking up in that imperial cell and seeing my parents again." "I don't really know," Kanan admitted, "one minute, you're talking with your parents, then the next, you three disappear." The rest of the ride back to the base was silent. I'm still wondering how we just disappeared like that but, I guess it'll be left a mystery.
