Ezra P.O.V

I trusted him and what do I get out of it. A dead friend and my father figure blind. How can I have been so stupid into trusting him!? I clenched my teeth together as the small pyramid in my hand levitates into the air then opens. "Yes child, be one with the dark side," a voice from the holocron said, "You failed your friends and family. They don't deserve you worthless piece of nothing!"

I was so mad that I stood up threw the holocron away with the force. I breathed hard like I just got done running. Yet, what it said was true. I sat back down and held my head in my hands. The door slid open but I didn't look up. "What was that?" I heard Sabine ask. "None of your business," I spat and used the force to shut the door and lock it.

Why did I do that?! Now she probably hates me, not that I don't deserved to be hit. Besides, the crew hates me, especially Kanan and Rex. I couldn't protect Rex's friend and I couldn't stop Kanan from being blind. Just one of the many perks of being me, there is always someone getting hurt and I can't always get there to help or protect them.

I heard the door open again and sighed irritated. "Look Sabine-" I stopped when I looked up and instead saw Kanan. "Oh uh, Kanan, I haven't seen you for a while," I said nervously but also glad. "I would say the same but I can't," he joked but I winced. His smile turned upside down then he walked in and sat next to me.

"Tell me what's wrong," he said gently. I played with my fingers and kept looking at the ground without replying. "Ezra," he said and I tried to calm myself so I wouldn't cry. What 17 year old cries? Then I felt and arm sling around my shoulders and rub my arm. "I can feel your sadness like a huge wave," Kanan said.

"You guys hate me and I just feel like I'm not wanted," I confessed. "Why would you feel like that?" Kanan asked. "I couldn't protect you or Ahsoka," I mumbled and hoped he wouldn't hear me. My stomach dropped when I heard him say, "Ezra, we all love you and you are always welcomed with open arms." I felt cold and I didn't want to be near Kanan when I felt like this.

I took his arm off my shoulders and stood up, moving away from Kanan. "What are you doing?" He asked me. I moved towards the door but it heard it lock. "Don't," he said and patted the seat next to him. "Kanan, I've been going through some things and I don't want you near me so I don't hurt you again," I explained and tried to open the door again.

"You won't hurt me," he said. "How do you know?!" I spat. "Cause I trust you," I replied and I froze. He still trusts me even what I put him through? "Why?" I asked with my back facing him, "Why do you still trust me after everything I did?" "Everything you done?" He said confused, "You haven't done a thing." "Yes I have!" I snapped and turned to face him.

"I trusted Maul and that got Ahsoka killed and you blinded!" I added and was breathing hard after I was done yelling. I fell to me knees and closed my eyes with my head bent down in shame. "It's all my fault," my voice cracked. I heard Kanan walk over to me but I didn't move or look up.

Then I felt something under my chin and lifted my head and I opened my eyes to meet Kanan. He was knelt down next to me and gave me a serious expression. "I never blamed you Ezra," he said, "It's time you forgave yourself." I felt a smile trace my lips as I said, "Yes master." I surprised him when I gave him a hug, almost knocking us over.

"Come on," he said and helped me stand up, "The others missed their youngest member of the family." My smile grew as we walked out of me and Zeb's room.
