Toni's POV

"Dada," I heard Mia's voice call, and I looked up from the newspaper I was reading, only to see her climb up on the couch next to me. "Dada come, drink tea."

"Tea?" I asked.

"Tea," she nodded.

Just then, Gabi popped her head out from the kitchen. "She wants you to attend her tea party," she grinned as the delicious smell of her stir-fry wafted out towards us. "Go attend her tea party, Toni."

"Okay, tea party," I stood up and put Mia on the ground. "Bring me to drink your tea, baby."

She grinned just like Gabi had and pulled me along excitedly. "Dada come," she said.

"Only your mother can make me do that," I muttered, only to have Gabi suddenly appear behind me and smack me hard on the shoulder.

"TONI!" she exclaimed in horror. "Don't talk dirty in front of them!"

I burst out laughing. The twins were a little over four years old now, and they were learning fast. I hadn't gotten used to it yet, though, and I shot my mouth off in front of them just like I'd always did around Gabi. Of course, she didn't really approve of that.

"It's true, isn't it?" I stopped and grasped her chin so I could kiss her lips, which after a few moments became upturned. I loved it whenever I managed to make her smile. Mia, though, wasn't so excited with all the kissing – she still pulled me along, but she wasn't strong enough, so she ended up jogging on the spot as she pulled on my arm.

"Yeah, yeah," she rolled her eyes playfully. "Hurry, you're gonna be late for the tea party."

Mia hauled me eagerly up the stairs, counting them as she climbed, and pulled me into the nursery, where a little table had been set up in the middle and some teacups, plastic cupcakes, and dainty little flowery plates were displayed on it. She pointed to one of the kiddy chairs. "Dada sit."

"Okay..." I sat on the chair gently, worried that it would fall apart.

Just then, as if she realised that Johann wasn't where she wanted him to be, she yelled loudly, "JOHANN!!! SIT, DRINK TEA!!!"

Startled and horrified, Johann scrambled to his feet and dashed across the room to where the table was, sitting down obediently on the empty chair. Oh, Mia was such a bossy child.

He was holding a piece of paper in his hand, which he held out to me. "For dada," he said.

I took a look at it – he'd drawn a huge house that resembled ours, along with some trees and flowers lining the sidewalk and driveway out front. Standing in front of the house were four people: Two adults and two children, all holding hands.

"Awww, is this us?" I asked.

He nodded, standing up and pointing at each of them in turn. "Dada, mama, Mia, Johann," he recited, then he pointed to the far corner of the picture, where there were six more people, this time in stick figures, which I hadn't noticed before. "Grand-dada two, grand-mama two, Fifi, Amy."

I couldn't help but laugh as I leaned over and gave him a kiss on his fuzzy blonde hair. "Clever boy."

"Teeeea," Mia pushed two empty pink teacups towards us. "Drink tea."

I watched Johann, who immediately lifted the teacup to his lips with his little chubby hands and pretended to drink from it. Mia did the same from opposite him, even with her little finger sticking out like she was at a high class dinner party. Shrugging at their antics, I brought the tiny teacup to my mouth as well, and "drunk" the "tea."
