Chapter 4

(Kageyama's P.O.V)

It's been two weeks. Hinata hasn't woken up, nor has he made any signs of waking up. I don't visit him everyday anymore, we set up a schedule.

Sunday: Daichi and Sugawara.
Monday: Tanaka and Nishinoya.
Tuesday: Tsukishima and Yamaguchi.
Wednessday: Asahi and Kageyama.
Thursday: Daichi and Squgawara.
Friday: Tanaka and Nishinoya
Saturday: Asahi and Kageyama.

(Tsukishima and Yamaguchi didn't want to go twice in one week.)

It's Saturday afternoon so Asahi and myself are sitting in Hinata's hospital room with one of the nurses. I curled up in the chair and fell asleep. A long beep wakes me up. I look over at Hinata's heart monitor. It flatlined. My heart drops.

It starts to move again and I sigh in relief. "What does that mean?" I ask the nurse. "It means his heart stopped beating for a little while. " She says as she presses the button to call a doctor in here. After two minutes the doctor comes in and immediately starts running tests on Hinata. While he does this the nurse tells him exactly what happened.

I notice that Asahi is also up. He doesn't really sleep when we're here. He turns to me and whispers, " Let's give the doctor some space." I nod and we walk outside. "Where do you want to eat?" I ask Asahi. "Let's go to the noodle shop. " Asahi responds. Mrs.Hinata introduced us to some good restaurants in the area of the hospital since we were going to be spending a lot of time here.

Asahi and I walk into the noodle store and take a seat close by the window. After a few minutes, the waitress appears and takes our orders. I wanted Udon and Asahi wanted pork ramen. I start to feel buzzing from my pocket and then I hear my ringtone. I answer my phone without checking caller ID. "Hello?" I ask. Mrs.Hinata answers, "Hello, Tobio? I'm just calling you to let you know that Hinata's okay."

I let out a huge breath I didn't know I was holding. "Thank goodness" I respond. She hangs up. I look over at Asahi, whose face is buried in his phone. "He's okay" I say. Asahi nods "Good." he says. He looks up at me quickly then back down at his phone. "Daichi wants us at 3 o'clock today. A meeting I'm guessing. " Asahi says. I look down at my watch. "It's 2:30 now. " I say. "Yeah, we'll take our food to go and eat it later.

-Time skip-

Asahi and I walk into coach Ukai's store with our take-away food in our hands. Coach Ukai is sitting behind the register with his head burried in a magazine. "Good afternoon coach." Asahi says. "Oh, hey.. The rest are in the staff room." Coach Ukai says. "Okay, thank you." Asahi says as we walk to the side of the store. As we walk in, I notice that it's only the part of the team that visits Hinata.

The mood changes as soon as I walk in. His mom said he was fine so why would the mood change to a sad one? Asahi and I take a seat as Daichi starts to speak.

"Glad you guys are here, we were just talking about visiting Hinata." Daichi starts, "We should visit him less, we all need to focus on our lives, Hinata wouldn't want us wasting our lives waiting for him." He finishes.

I couldn't disagree with that, our lives now run on Hinata's schedule, even though he didn't particularly have anything on the agenda.

"Kageyama, also, umm... How do I say this....-" Asahi started but was cut off by Tanaka," You're obsessed with Hinata, you need to take a break from him... No matter how much you visit, he will still recover in his own time.... not yours."

"O-okay?" I say. "Wait, you're not upset?" Yamaguchi asks. "No... why would I be upset?" I ask. "Because you're Kageyama." Nishinoya says. "Well- anyways I asked Mrs. Hinata when we should visit him, we agreed on every two weeks. If that's okay with you?" Daichi says. "Yeah.." I say crossing my arms. "Then it's settled, can I go home now?" Tsukishima says, yawning.

We start visiting every two weeks. No progress was made, maybe a finger movement, or his eyes moving from time to time, but no big improvements. Slowly less and less members started showing up less and less and soon enough visiting Hinata was just a thing of the past.

June 21.

I woke up to the sound of my phone ringing. It was Mrs.Hinata. "Hello?" I ask. "Good morning Tobio, ummm.. Can you guys come over to visit Hinata later since it's his birthday, I think he'll really enjoy it." She says. I completely forgot... Today is Hinata's birthday. I contact everyone and tell them to go to the hospital for his birthday. I go straight to a convenience store and buy ten helium balloons half of them saying get well soon, the other half saying happy birthday. I buy streamers and other party necessities.

As I was walking in with my hands full, I see Nishinoya with tons of bags too. Walking beside him was Asahi with his fair share of bags too. Time skip.... By the time we were done decorating, everyone was there. We sang happy birthday to Hinata, shared memories and had a lot of fun. By the time we were done it was already 11pm.

It was a week since the party with Hinata and the memories of it still lingered.. Even though Hinata wasn't 'there' I still believe he enjoyed it. I was drinking a glass of milk before I got a call, it was Mrs. Hinata. "Hello?" I asked. "Tobio....H-He's awake." My heart stopped.
