The Space Between Us

The new house (3)

When we get on Ferry Lane, we see a lot of houses. Not little houses; no more like mansions. We get to the last house; there stands a beautiful grey house with a huge fence. When we roll up the drive way, the door opens and I see Bullet, Penny, Rhino, and Emma run out. I jump out of the car and Emma jumps in my arms. Bullet is whining and trying his best to lick my face. We all walk inside. There I see my mom and Jasmine.

"Hi sweetie." My mom says giving me a hug.

I let Emma down so she can play with the dogs. I see a present on the table. It has holes. What could that be?

"Go ahead open it. Someone left it for a graduation gift. I'm not allowed to say who though."

I open it and there inside is the fluffiest kitten ever. I let him out and there he has a collar. 'Oliver' it reads. I hold him for a while; everyone staring.

"May I ask you for a favor?" Jasmine ask.

"Sure." I say.

"Will you keep Rhino? It's hard because he's a little wild and he's been being kinda rough with Penny and Emma; since Luke hasn't been here to take care of him." She says.

"I'd love too. Is that ok, guys?" I ask my friends.

Peyton starts squealing. I know I have her approval. The boys all nod there heads. Then all of a sudden I think of the rooms. I rush my way up the stairs. I call the biggest room. I hear the pounding of my friends feet. Joe and Peyton take the next biggest room, Alex takes the third biggest room, and Noah takes the smallest. There are still two more rooms. Those will be the parents rooms.

I give Joe and Peyton a glare warning them. They nod there heads. I walk back downstairs.

"Mommy, can I stay with Belle and her friends?" Emma ask.

"I'm sorry, they have school. Maybe on the weekend though." Jasmine says.

We have dinner. Then my mom, Jasmine, and Emma leave. After they leave. We get the boys to drag our stuff in the house. We set up our rooms and bathrooms. Then we help set up the boys room. When I get to the living room I see the dogs beds, food, and more stuff. I put Rhino and Bullet's bed in my room: although I'm pretty sure they won't sleep on them. Oliver my kitten is at my feet, I'm reading a book in my new room when Joe comes barging in.

"Can we talk?" He ask.

"Sure."

"So...how are you doing." He ask.

"I'm doing great."

"No with the Luke catastrophe."

"Uhh I don't really want to about him."

"You know he misses you. He really does. I mean we don't talk that much anymore but when we do he tells me how much he misses you."

"Get out!" I yell.

"But-"

"GET OUT! GET OUT!" I yell.

He looks at me mouths 'sorry' and leaves. The tears I was trying to hold, come out like waves. Sobbing. I couldn't help it. It hurt so much. I cried so much that I didn't notice that the sun had gone down, until I saw what looked like car lights through my window. I went to my window and looked. There a car was just sitting. I looked at it for a couple minutes, then it turned around and drove out of my drive way. Who was that?

"Are you ok?" I hear Peyton ask behind me.

I jump in fright, "That's the second time you have scared me."

She gives a small smile.

"Were about to watch a movie. Want to join us?" She ask.

"Yea sure, hey did you see a car in the driveway?"

"Nope." She says popping the p.

We go downstairs and I sit on the couch that the boys brought with them. Oliver jumps on my shoulders and falls asleep. Bullet gets in my lap, and Rhino is at my feet. We're watching 'Bleed For This' I don't even make it to the end of the show, before my eyes close and drift into a nice sleep in my new house.
