I open the package and inside there is a CD. On the CD is a note.
Dear Muffin,
You know me. I know you. This is throwback. You'll see me on Monday. The sad thing is, that you won't speak to me. I miss you. I'm sorry I hurt you. I hope you like this...and I hope you like Oliver. He needed a home. I thought of you immediately ;)
I pop the CD in and the first song is 'Lately' by Dan and Shay. He put songs on there that we danced to. I go through the list. The last song is 'Water Under the Bridge' by: Adele.
"Joe and Noah, in here NOW!" I yell from the top of the stairs.
They come running up immediately.
"Why are you really here?" I ask.
They look at me trying to read my face. They know.
"Luke sent us to watch you." They say.
"Wait don't get on to them. We were all part of this. Even us." Peyton and Alex say.
"That was his black Audi 8, wasn't it?"
"Yea, that was him."
"I can't believe you guys would do this."
"Now tell me why is here? He said-said- he doesn't l-l-ove me." I say; trying not to cry.
"We were here to watch you. We knew he was coming but we still don't know why." Joe says.
"Get out. Please." I whisper. The tears falling.
This was suppose to be the year, the year I got away from the heartbreak...the year I was suppose to live my life; Not have him enter it again. I sit on my bed crying. What do I do? Would if he talks to me? How am I suppose to not break in front of him? The dams I've built will burst. I can't do this...
