"I'm sorry Ms. Angeles. I'm sure you'll find the right career path for you."
Hindi kumibo si Dafnhie at lumabas na mula sa dean's office.
Matagal na rin naman nyang nakikita ang bagay na ito. Law is not for her. After the festival it would be the Éxito's final examination. Dafnhie can't afford to fail so she decided to consult this matter with the University's career counselor and ended up with the decision to withdraw from law course.
"Should I tell the old man?"
Wala syang sinabihan tungkol sa naging desisyon nya. Ang tanging nakaka alam lang sa ginawa nyang ito ay ang kanilang career counselor at law department's Dean.
"He'll know anyways, the school will definitely call him."
"Hello princess. Wake up!" yugyog ni Lowiee sa dalaga.
"Dafnhie, it's already 8 past 7. Just so you know, your first class already started 7 minutes ago!"
Hindi pinansin ng dalaga ang lalaki. Nasanay na siya na basta basta na lang itong nagtutuloy tuloy sa kwarto nya upang gisingin sya t'wing umaga. Halos ito na ang nagsilbing alarm clock nya ngayong semester.
"Get up! "pilit nitong tinatanggal at hinihila ang comforter na nakatakip sa mukha niya.
"Get out Justine sh*t, don't ruin my sleep."
"You're late! Get up now. My class will start in an hour."
"Then go ahead." nakipag agawan siya sa comforter. Hindi pa rin siya tinatantanan ng lalaki.
"You know how much I sacrifice my precious time so I can just pick you up and drive you on time, right?"
Dahil sa magkaiba sila ng schedule ay si Lowiee palagi ang nag nagaadjust para sa dalaga. Kapag mas maaga ang pasok ni Dafnhie ay papasok din ito ng maaga at sa university na lamang magpapalipas ng oras. Pag mas maaga naman ang pasok ng lalaki ay nag papa alam na lamang ito sa professor saglit at sinusundo si Dafnhie, pagka tapos ay agad na bumabalik sa klase.
"I dropped out, okay?"
"Wait. What?"
Tinanggal nya ang comforter sa mukha. "I. Drop. Out. Get it? Now, get out."
"I heard you the first time. But why did you?"
"Law isn't for me. Even you, knows it, heck, everyone else does."
"I respect that. You should have told me at least. I know it's a tough decision."
"It is. Now, get out."
"Did you tell Ninong Dani?"
"Why would I? Can't you just get out of my room?"
"So, you'll just gonna stay here in your room for the rest of the semester? That's boring."
"I didn't drop the minor subjects. I still have 2. I'll be in Uni once or twice a week depends on the schedule."
"Hmmmm. Okay."
"Good. Now get out."
"Fine." palabas na ng pinto ang lalaki ngunit bigla ulit itong bumalik at lumapit kay Dafnhie.
"What?" inis na tanong niya.
"No goodbye kiss?"
"Fck you!" sabay hagis niya ng unan sa mukha nito.
Kumakain ngayon ng lunch si Dafnhie. Nagulat na lamang sya nang pumasok ang ama sa dining area. Ang buong akala nya ay nasa ibang bansa ito ngayon.
"Good afternoon iha. Enjoying your lunch?" naka ngiting bati nito sa kanya. Hindi niya ito kinibo.
