Noelle was thriving at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The girl couldn't remember a time she was more happy then when she was sitting in the Gryffindor common room, finishing homework and laughing with her friends. She had become incredibly close to four people, in particular- Lily, Lana, Remus, and James. James and Remus, who were two Gryffindor boys who were in the girls year, also had two other best friends- Sirius, and Peter. Although Peter didn't annoy Noelle at all, she wasn't particularly keen on speaking to him seeing as he never had anything to say. Sirius, on the other hand, annoyed to girl at any chance possible. Between and during classes, at meals, and in the common room were only some of the places he decided to 'grace her with his presence'. Wherever the girl went, he seemed to be there a second before, waiting for her. He was a complete pest, and Noelle truly couldn't stand him.
"Noie!" A voice boomed from the common room, and Noelle groaned, leaving the safety of the girls dormitories to see what Sirius wanted from her.
"What is it now, Black?"
"Do you think you could help me with this History of Magic essay? You seem awfully good at this subject- not that you don't excel in the others, as well..." The boy stuttered, smiling goofily at Noelle, and he flashed his puppy dog face that he used whenever he wanted something.
She rolled her eyes. "Flattery won't get you anywhere, Black."
"Please? Just this once?"
Noelle knew that it wouldn't be the last time her asked her for help, but decided to help him anyways. It was a Saturday, and the girl had already finished all her homework for the coming week.
"Let's see... 'The Gargoyle Strike of 1896,'" Noelle recited, tugging the notes she had taken during class out of her bag and slamming them on the table.
"Thats quite a bit of notes you've got there-" Sirius motioned towards the billowing pile of parchment, chuckling softly to himself. Noelle seemed to be the only student in all of Hogwarts who actually paid attention in History of Magic, other than Lily.
Her notes were incredibly extensive, but eventually she came across the 'Gargoyle Strike of 1896', and handed them to Sirius.
"That should be all that you need to write the essay," said Noelle.
Sirius whined deeply. "Won't you help me write it?" The boy poked Noelle's shoulder numerous times, and each time he poked her her patient grew thinner.
"Fine! As long as you stop- stop poking me!"
A look of triumph swept across Sirius's face, and he attacked Noelle with a giant bear hug.
"Never do that again." Noelle warned, letting out a exasperated sigh and heading off for breakfast.
"Thanks, Noie."
"And don't call me that, Black!"
"Whatever you please, Noie!"
Sirius continued to pester Noelle whenever he got the chance, and Noelle, after telling the boy multiple times that he was a annoying git, gave up. She stopped groaning every time he entered a room, and let the boy sit next to her during meals as he tried multiple times in the pst, only to be pushed off the bench. That was as far as her pleasantries extended, though- she still avoided him like the plague if it meant not having to deal with his annoying antics.
Noelle also found herself in the library constantly with Remus, and on the rare occasion, James. She was becoming increasingly close to the two boys, and found herself sometimes hanging out with them more than Lily and Lana- not that she didn't love the two girls. The thing about the girls was how close they seemed to be with each other, and no matter how hard Noelle tried, Lana and Lily always seemed to choose each other over her. She didn't mind it so much, though.
