The rest of Winter Break flew by, and before Noelle knew it, she was back in classes. Noelle had already started to prepare for end of the year tests, much to the dismay of James, who believed that the girl was mental for planning so far ahead."Noelle, I swear, you are the most 'goody two shoes' person I have ever met." James shoved some pumpkin pie into his mouth, and sighed. They had completed a hard day of classes, and had been assigned so much homework to do for tomorrow Noelle felt as if her brain would burst.
The girl stared at James sternly. "I am not! One time, I-"
"You are too! I saw you color coding you notes this morning, and you re-did them after realizing you put yellow before orange in a doodle of a rainbow."
Noelle groaned. "James, I re-did my notes because everything was wrong, not because my doodle of a rainbow was wrong, you idiot!"
"Well, all the same. I think I need to teach you how to be a little bit more rebellious." James took another huge chunk of pumpkin pie and stuffed it into his already full mouth.
"Absolutely not," said Noelle, "and would you stop eating like a pig! One bite at a time." She swatted the boys shoulder, giving him a severe look of disproving.
"You guys are bickering like siblings, will you please shut up?" Remus muttered, slamming his head on the table. "Im going to lose my mind!"
The three friends laughed, and they headed up to the common room to finish homework.
They arrived at the common room, and sat on the comfy couch, pulled out their homework, and worked away.
"I am serious about teaching you to break some rules," James said. He realize what he said a fraction of a second before it was too late.
"You're not Sirius, you're James." Noelle blurted, looking at James with a mock face of confusion.
Remus and James both groaned, slamming their heads on the coffee table. "Not again! Why do you have to do that every time someone says 'serious' in a conversation!"
"Because it's simply the funniest joke ever. I'll be dead the day I don't use that joke." Noelle turned back to her homework, a grin of satisfaction plastered on her face as she finished her Herbology paper.
"Talking about me, huh?" A voice from behind the three asked, hoping over the couch and landing directly on Noelle's lap.
"Yes. We were just discussing how much we hated you." Noelle shoved Sirius off of her, leaving him to sprawl out on the floor and fake a scream of distress and pain.
"Love you too, Noie!" Sirius chirped, jumping up from the floor and sitting on James's lap instead.
"Why didn't you come to dinner?" Remus questioned, finally looking up from his papers.
Sirius shrugged. "Wasn't hungry."
When everyone finished their homework, it was two in the morning, and the common room was empty except from James, Sirius, and Noelle. Remus had went up to bed-- that boy slept as much as he could, whenever he could. Peter had also gone to bed early, along with the girls.
Noelle, Sirius, and James sat around the fire, laughing at a joke that James had just made. Sirius was braiding Noelle's hair, much to her dismay.
"You're an idiot, you know?" Noelle giggled, playing with the fire-poker and turning over a piece of burning wood.
"As much of an idiot as you are a rebel!" James retorted, earning a nod of agreement from Sirius.
"For your information, I have broken plenty of school rules. Like that time when Bellatrix attacked me in the corridor, and I hexed her so badly she couldn't see straight for two days!" Noelle blurted, then covered her mouth in a horrific sort of way, realizing what she just said. Noelle had been referring to when Noelle was heading outside to meet the boys and play Quidditch in the snow with them, before winter break. She hadn't told them that, in fact, it was Bellatrix who had given her a bruised cheek. The girl made up a quick cover story, blaming it on her clumsiness and a trick stair.
