I see Mr. And Mrs. Diamond car in the driveway as I walk up.
I open the door and put on a fake smile.
"I'm home" I yell
"There you are" Mrs D walk up and hugs me
"Yeah sorry I went for a walk" i tell her
"The house look good" she winks I laugh "did you have fun?"
"Yeah I had a great time"
"I'm glad" she smiles "why don't you help me with dinner"
"Okay" I say as we walk to the kitchen
I start mixing things together.
"Did you guys have fun?" I ask
"Yes we did" she says but her tone doesn't seem like it
"Where's Mr. Diamond?" I haven't seen him
"He went to run a errand real quick" she says with a tight smile
"Is everything okay?" I ask worried
"Why wouldn't it be" she won't make eye contact with me
Maybe I'm overthinking.
I start stirring the sauce when I hear Mr. Diamond voice.
"Hello girls" I look over at him he looks flushed and jumpy
"Are you hungry" mrs Diamond ask looking at something behind him
I go back to stirring.
"Can I talk to you for a second darling?" Mr Diamond asks Mrs Diamond
"Of course keep stirring the sauce Ali " Mrs d tells me I nod
I try to listen to what their saying something going on and I don't think it's good whatever it is.
Ali your overthinking again it's probably nothing I tell myself.
I take the sauce off the burner and walk into the living room.
I stop when I see Kurt, Mr and Mrs Diamond, they all look at me.
"What the hell are you doing here! I told you to leave me alone" I say growing mad
"Ali don't talk to guest tha- wait you both know each other" Mrs D says with wide eyes
"yeah he came to my birthday party" I say to her " you need to leave" I tell him
"I was invited" he says smugly
"By who" I say crossing my arms in disbelief
"By them" he points to Mr and Mrs Diamond
"We need to talk" mr Diamond says calmly
We sit down on the couch.
"How do you know him" I ask them
"It's a long story" Mrs d says looking at mr d
"We'll start at the beginning then" I tell her
"You know how you cant remember anything from when you were a child" Mrs d says slowly
"Yeah" I say unsure where this is going "the doctors say I probably hit my head or something and I got amnesia"
"No there's a reason you can't remember because you needed to forget your life"
"Okay your sounding crazy like him" I say pointing to Kurt
"I take that as a compliment" he winks I roll my eyes
"It's true" mr Diamond says "you come from a place called wonderland your parents were the king and queen of that realm but something terrible happened and you needed to leave so that one day you could return"
I start laughing.
They all look at me like I'm the crazy one.
"Wow good one did Emma put you up to this?" I laugh
"It's true Alice" Kurt says
"Prove it" I tell him
"Okay you ask for it but I don't know if it will do quiet right here with no magic in this world and I wasn't born with magic" he says taking a deep breath
He shows me his palm then closes it and opens it to reveal a blue catipallier.
"Nice magic trick" i roll my eyes
"Alice it's the truth I would never lie to you but we haven't got much time" Mrs Diamond tells me
"What do you mean we don't have a lot of time" I ask confused
"They found you Alice that's why Kurt's here he came to get you and bring you home because there's people who will be here soon to hurt you" Mr Diamond says
"Your not making sense" I shake my head trying to understand
"I know it's a lot to take in and your mind doesn't want to believe but it's the honest truth and I'm sorry we didn't tell you sooner we wanted to protect you but now there's no time to explain.you need to leave" Mrs Diamond says on the verge of tears which makes my eyes water
"Where are we going" I ask
"You and Kurt are going. you need to leave the house and go somewhere safe and then back home"
"What about you two" I look at them I don't believe a word there saying but why aren't they coming on this imaginary trip
"Because we are going to stall so you have time to escape" she says and right then mr Diamond phone goes off
"It's the alarms someone's on the property" he says
"It's probably Simon" I roll my eyes
Mrs Diamond stands up, I stand up too
She hugs me tight like she's never going to see me again "I love you I might not be your birth mother but you are my child" she says
Mr Diamond hugs me next "goodbye Alice I love you" he kisses the top of my head
I'm still so confused.
All of a sudden I hear the back door bust open.
