Chapter 1: Lucas

Breaking news, Tv was shining bright, revealing the mysterious disappearance of 7-year-old Lucas, you can see the reflection of the T.V on 16-year-old Olivia's eyes as she stared at the T.V interestingly.

Her leg shook uncontrollably, her eyes bugged out, she sat there silently staring. Nothing ever caught her attention on T.V as much as this boy did. Olivia thought T.V shows were for children, and all they would do is ruin the human brain. Mysteries were her passion, they intrigued her a lot.

She lived with her mother who suffered from cancer and still is suffering. Her mother suffered from skin cancer, she battled cancer for years. Olivia used to stay up all night taking care of her when she's ill.

Her mom would have pink dots all over her body when she needs chemotherapy. She stayed at home and took chemotherapy every month and whenever needed.

Her  father, Rob, never really cared about his ex-wife and his daughter. Rob divorced her mom when Olivia was only 9, and that's when the mom got the disease. The main reason he divorced her was her outer beauty. Olivia holds a grudge for her father thinking he's a shallow person.

Rob married a twenty-year-old Russian model, Bianca, they both lived in Russia, leaving Olivia to take care of her diseased mother. Bianca had long blonde hair, stark fit body and big blue eyes. He preferred physical features rather than the core, and to Olivia, she thinks her mother had a heart of gold.

Olivia lived with her mother next to the Rosses. She wasn't a big fan of their 17-year-old boy Parker, because he always annoys and embarrasses her since they go to the same school. He always calls her "Munch" in front of everyone and that really teases her.

(Olivia POV)

Watching the T.V, Lucas' story triggered my curiosity enough to go and search about it. I sat on my desk, ready to solve a mystery, I typed so fast that the autocorrect did all the spelling for me. I typed " Disappearance of Lucas". All the results were under the title "Mystery unsolved".

I was determined to find and solve this mystery, even if it takes long and consumes my time. For some reason, this boy especially caught my attention. But after hours of research all I could find was that he was an orphan who lived with his foster parents, he suffered from anxiety as well, nothing could ever interrupt my research and my train of thoughts but my annoying neighbor, Parker.

I hate that ticking noise of him throwing rocks at my window. "What do you want you freak?" I said angrily," I haven't seen you all day, munch!" He said in his irritating tone. " Ugh" I said as I close my curtain and head back to my computer.

I bit my lip hardly and clenched my fist, I really wished I could solve this mystery. I put my hands on my head and stare at the keyboard  for a while.

When I finally gave up, I shut down my computer, and headed downstairs, since I haven't seen my mom all day. I was so busy trying to solve a mystery that I didn't check on my mom. I ordered from " Dominos Pizza " , my mom's favorite food to make up for all the time wasted on that research and rushed to have a lovely meal with her.

"Mom!" I said heading to her room. I found her sleeping in her bed, "Mom" I said in a whisper, "Mom, wake up I got food" she's wasn't replying, she's a heavy sleeper indeed. " Hey? Are you that s-sleepy" I said while smiling but I started to doubt that something was wrong.

My heart was beating so fast, I can hear its beats, it looked like my heart was trying to barge out of my chest. "Mom!" I said as my eyes were tearing up,"Mom, you can't  do this to me" I said not believing what's happening. " You can't leave me alone, you're everything I have and everything I would ever have... don't just leave me like my father did" I said crying holding her hand. I bursted with tears looking at her face that was filled with the pink dots.

I didn't know what to do, I put my head on her chest, her heartbeats are too slow. I rushed towards Parker, my annoying neighbor, and started to knock the door like a freak.

He opened the door, "what's up? Oh what's with the red eyes " He said with a weird smile on his face trying to hide his giggles. "My mom...I need your help" I said grabbing his hand and running toward my house.

"Help me carry her!" I said trying to catch my breath. "What happened is she okay?" He asked trying to seem concerned. "Just carry her!" I said trying to pick her up from her chair . We put her in the backseat, I drove while Parker sat in the backseat with my mom.

I drove for a while, I had flashbacks all of a sudden, I was crying with no voice "Olivia?" He said in a low disappointed voice, "what? What?" I said, "I can't hear her heartbeats, there are no heartbeats, I'm sorry" he told me. "No that's not possible" I felt shocked.

"Mom!! Mom we'll be there soon, just hang on mom" I said crying. "No no no this can't be happening" I said striking the steering wheel, "Olivia! Olivia!" Parker said trying to get me back to my senses.

Everything was blurry , I felt weak. She's my everything. She's the cure for every disease, the solution for every problem, I can't believe this happening, I can no more breathe, everything started getting black and white, no more colors. I started feeling dizzy...
