I woke up out of breath, my lungs rising and falling at a rapid pace. Sweat streaming down my forehead leaving me freezing cold. I was shaking alone in my room.

Maybe I should go to mum and dad... ugh, Willow! You're sixteen, you don't need your parents to sleep.

After calming myself down, I left my room.

The cold floor boards sent chills up my spine. Making my way to the kitchen, I made a warm glass of milk.

Halfway through drinking, I nearly choked.

My eyes were glued to the glass door, unwavering from the dark figure lurking outside, slowly making its way to the door. It was like a magnet, pulling me closer to the door until only the glass was separating us. My eyes scanned the figure, it wore a black hoodie and black jeans, it also had broad shoulders... it was a he. But what captivated me the most about him was his glowing auburn eyes flecked with gold.

We raised our hands to the door and our palms pressed against the glass. It was at that moment that his hand moved through the glass like thin air, he grabbed my wrist and started to pull me through the door. I could feel the glass travelling through my arm.

His head snapped behind him towards a sound he must have heard. I looked past him to a murderous looking owl staring at us with its crimson red eyes boreing into us. He pushed me inside and chased after the owl as it flew away.

I sat on the floor, replaying the scene that just happened. After what felt like an eternity I got up and went back to bed, still pondering if this even happened.

Was there really a guy in my backyard?
