When I entered the building my jaw nearly dropped. It was bigger on the inside then it was the outside. It was something from another era. The dark wooden stairs, velvet red carpet, the hallways leading to all the rooms and the crystal chandelier that cast the house with a warm yellow glow.

Zane guided me through the house, we reached the ginormous kitchen. There was a massive island in the middle with stoves on one end of the counter, two dishwashers, two ovens and massive fridge.

It. Was. Heaven.

I sat on a chair and my stomach growled. I clutched my stomach. I hadn't realised how hungry I was.

"What do you want to eat? Name anything." Zane rested his hands on the counter top.

"Do you have fruit loops? I really feel like fruit loops." My stomach growled again.

"Sugar coated cereal it is then." He turned around, grabbed a box of fruit loops, poured a bowl with milk and handed me the glorious rainbow assortment of deliciousness. I grabbed the metal spoon and engulfed the contents of the bowl.

I finished the fruit loops and put it in the dishwasher. Zane took me through the house. The people we past were all young no older than 50. But everyone we past had the same glowing eyes. He led me into an office, there at the desk sat Genévive.

"Hello again Willow, I'm sure Zane answered your questions." Zane gave a slight nod.

"Good. Now your room is on the third floor, fifth door to the left. There are some clothes in your room that you can get changed into, if they don't fit let me know. Now leave." She was very straight forward.

Zane and I left without question. I followed Zane to where ever my room was. My room had a single bed in the far left corner, a couch and a coffee table in front of it, a wardrobe was on the left side of the wall with a full length mirror on the door, there was a window, which showed the front of the house surrounded by trees.

"You don't mind living here, right?" Zane broke the silence.

"No. Not really. Thank you really...I appreciate the effort you've put in to even stand being around me." I mumbled the last few words. Zane chuckled

"As much as an annoying troll you are, you aren't bad company." He winked at me and smirked. "Dinner is in twenty minutes, if you need anything my room is down the hall third door to the right." Zane with the smirk plastered on his face, closing the door behind him.

I walked towards my closet, and pulled out random clothes and put them on. I pulled out the necklace from my pocket and put it on, the bead dangling around my neck.
"Now where did you even come from." I played with the necklace for a bit, feeling some sort of comfort from it before I left my room in a white t-shirt, tan shorts and white vans.
I headed towards the kitchen, the smell of lasagna wafted through the house. I eventually reached the kitchen but there weren't any people there.

"Well you must be new no one comes to get food early."

I turned to see a boy around my age looking at me. He had brown hair with a slight fringe to the left and he had these glowing green eyes mixed in with a gold.

"Yeah...I just got here." I shifted my weight on my feet.

"Oh you must be the person who's moved in across the hall... Willow...Willow Potens I think it is, well I'm Chaise Ernst, emphasis on the Ernst." He shot a smile and turned back to  the stove and continued cooking. I stood there for a couple of seconds.

"You can help if you want." He called over his shoulder. I walked up to him willing to help...I hate feeling useless.

"Okay so if you could get the potatoes out of the ovens and put two on thirty-four plates."

"Sure no problem. Wait... thirty-four people live here?" My eyes widened a bit in shock.

"Yep! And some people bunk with each other so we still have empty rooms." He chirped.

"So you cook for everyone?"

"Sometimes. Other times we all just get frozen food and cook it in the ovens."

I took out the potatoes and carefully put them on the counter beside me and started putting them on the plates.
I looked to Chaise who was putting lasagna, carrots and beans on the plates now. I finished playing the last potato on the plate.

"Okay cool. If you could put the plates with the lasagna on them on the table that would be great."

I picked up two plates and headed towards a massive wooden table. I set down the plates and eventually Chaise came to help, we finished setting the plates and sat down and begun eating.

"Shouldn't we wait for everyone else?" I asked between mouthfuls of food.

"Trust me, you don't want to be in the kitchen when everyone cleans their plates, not fun." A dark look came across his face.

The chair on the other side of me moved.

"Hey Chaise, smells great thanks." Zane begun eating.

"I had help putting the food on the plates." He said with his mouth full. Zane just nodded.

"Make sure you finish before everyone else, I know you're a slow eater but nearly every night people push and shove to clean their plates."
We continued eating, we finished our meal as everyone started theirs.

The three of us got up and cleaned our plates.

"This here is Willow Potens, she's new to the house!" Chaise yelled.

Everyone's eyes turned to me I could feel my cheeks going red.

"Don't be embarrassed Chaise does this to pretty much every new person." A girl with black hair and these glowing dark grey eyes spotted with green specks. Everyone chuckled and smiled, they went back to their meals and continued on with their conversations.

"Willow can you come see me immediately." I looked down the hall and saw Genévive heading to her office.

"I guess I need to go. Thanks for cooking Chaise, see ya guys!" I left down the hall and went into the office.

"You needed to see me?"

"Yes. It's about your parents. I don't believe they told you this, it's a lot to take in but I'm going to be blunt with you; Your Dad was a Sui Generis, however we don't know how you became one, or if your mum was one. It's a very slim chance for someone to be Sui Generis if it runs in the genetics."

"What?"

Dad was a Sui Generis?

"After he had you he disappeared, he took you and your mum to your house that got burned down to protect you from the Flunkeys, there were none anywhere near that house and he cloaked the house to protect his family. But the Flunkeys had found you and intended on killing your entire family, you are supposed to be dead."

What the heck, you shouldn't be surprised by this stuff anymore.

"What does this mean?"

"This means, Willow, being Sui Generis runs in your veins it's in your genetics, making you more of a threat to the Flunkeys."

"Why am I such a big threat?" My hands were shaking now.

"Because, the fact that it's in your genes makes you more powerful than regular Sui Generis, the power comes naturally to you it's something that runs in your veins and is part of you. Flunkeys aren't to keen to have something or someone they can't control, living."
