The Wedding

 Joey's Pov

I wake up with a terrible headache.

Ugh, I'm hungover I thought.

What's worse is that today is an important day. Sawyer's wedding.

I remember the proposal like it was yesterday.

December 15, 2012

"Alyssa, I love you more than anything."

"You are my everything, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you."

"Will you marry me?"

Present Day

And now I'm stuck going to this stupid wedding and I'm Sawyer's best man.

It's not that I'm not happy for them, its just........ 

Why do they get to be happy?

I put all of those thoughts behind me before getting in the shower.

I put on my tux, scowling as I do so, and go to the kitchen and get an ice, cold, beer.

That's right. Beer for breakfast 'cuz that's what a badass does.

I take the beer with me and leave the house.

Halfway to the church I reach a stop sign on an empty looking road and chuck the empty beer bottle out of the winow.

I arrive the the church, (beautiful for spacious skies by the way) , before being greeted by the groom himself, Sawyer.

"Joey, Hey!" he says to me obviously nervous about the wedding.

I plaster a fake grin on my face.

"Soy Sauce!"

"Haha. So listen, I'm really nervous as you can probaly tell, any tips?"

What? Who the hell does he think he's talking to. I'm single, and have terrible luck with girls.

"Just get out there." I say.

"Once you see Alyssa, you forget all about being nervous." I tell him.

"Alright.", "Thanks Joey."

"See you inside!" he calls, alredy jogging inside.

"Yep. See you inside." I whisper to no one in general.

5 HOURS LATER after the wedding and after party.

I get home and get in the bed and immediately start to fall asleep but not before thinking 

'Being there was hell'
