Joey's Pov

I sigh and ring the doorbell

"Joey!" Nicole said to me. She hugged me tightly.

"Come in, I've really missed you!" she said, bubbly as always.

I sit on the couch, feeling really exausted.

"So how are things?" she asks me.

"Pretty good." i lie.

"Hm. Well, Mom and Dad are spending New Year's in Times Square so It'll just be you and me." she says.

A/N: I forget whether Joey's parents are still together or not ( i don't think they are) but they are in the story.

I nod.

It's silent for a moment.

"Joey, what's wrong?" she asks me desperately.

"What do you mean? I'm fine." I try to assure her.

"Yeah, I don't think you are." she said, worry in her voice.

"I already told you, I'm FINE." I said, my voice raising an octave.

"Oh. Okay." she said.

"You should get some rest. See you in the morning." she said and walked to her room, closing the door behind her.

I immediatley regretted talking to Nicole like that. It's just...... I'm perfectly fine! Right?

THE NEXT MORNING

I wake up with extreme back pain. The sun is shining right in my eyes. I fell asleep on the couch last night.

"Hey." Nicole said from the doorway leading into the kitchen.

"Oh Hey. You're awake too. What time is it?"

"6:50."

"Ugh. Early!" I groaned and lied back down.

"Hey Nicole."

"Hm?"

"I'm sorry about yelling at you last night. That wasn't cool of me."

"It's fine Joey. I'm taking you somewhere today. Get up Broseph."

"Fine. Where are you taking me exactly?"

"It's a suprise!"

I get in the shower, the warm water hitting my skin feels amazing. Where the hell is Nicole taking me today? It better not be some insane party. For once, I want to spend New Year's Eve very low- key.
