"Just wait here a second, Vanessa. I'll be right back." Mrs. Lockhart said as she ran up the stairs. She knocked on the doors and said something to them, but I could not quite figure out what she was saying. After a few minutes of talking, she came downstairs with 3 boys following behind her.
"Vanessa, here's Brayden." she pointed at the oldest guy. I followed her gaze and saw that he's tall, I'm guessing around 5'11, ocean blue eyes, light brown, almost dirty blonde wavy hair, sun kissed skin, and he's muscular.
"Hi," I finally said.
"Hey. Vanessa, right?"
"Um yeah," I said, and for some reason, I bowed.
He looked at me strangely with his brows raised. "What are you doing?" he finally asked.
Oh no! I probably looked like an idiot. Ughhh!!! "Oh um well this is how we greet people in England when we first meet them. You know, the Royal Family made it into like a law or something." I said, clearly sounding it's all made up.
"Hmm yeah we could say that," he said, grinning.
"And you know it is very disrespectful and against the law if the person doesn't bow back," I added. Oh my god! Vanessa! Why did you add that? He seriously just ended the conversation and you started talking again.
Ugh!
"There is no way I will bow to you, or to anyone," he said.
"Cmon Brayden, do it! Your Highness is waiting," a younger boy said.
I might've had a strange look on my face when Mrs. Lockhart said,
"That's JC," referring to the younger kid who looked 12. He has a dark brown hair, also wavy like Brayden's. He has emerald green eyes who looks so breathtaking for some odd reason. He's also surprisingly tall for his age.
"Oh, nice to meet you JC!" I said, and bowed, still pretending it's a part of England's tradition.
He gladly bowed back, and we both turned to look at Brayden, who just stood there so cool and calm.
"Dude, bow to her! Don't disrespect her! Maybe one day, the Royal Family, whoever they are, will come knocking to our door to come hunt you down. You better do it know before it's too late. You'll thank me later."
"Okay fine whatever," Brayden agreed, finally bowing to me.
"Are you happy now?" he asked, looking up.
"England will be very glad that Americans are learning some English culture." I said, half joking.
"Ahh this is so exciting!! My boys finally meeting Vanessa!! And it looks like you guys are gonna be great friends! Isn't that right, honey?!" she said, looking at Mr. Lockhart.
"Uh huh." he said, clearly distracted. He's looking around the pile of clothes on the couch.
There was a moment of silence for a few minutes, then Mrs. Lockhart broke the silence. "Where in the world is Mason??" she jerked.
"Don't ask me, I was in the shower," Brayden shrugged.
"I was doing homework. And mom, isn't it your job to know where your sons are?" JC snapped.
"Okay Mister, I got kinda distracted and---"
Honk!!!!Honk!!!!Honk!!!!!!
"What the fiddlesticks is that?" JC asked, looking around.
"Oh my goodness! It's Mason!" Mrs. Lockhart jumped rushing to the car. We all followed her. When we got out, Mason was on the driver's seat of a Jeep .
"Gosh, Mason! Don't move!" and as soon as Mrs. Lockhart warned him, he slammed on the gas pedal using his hands. He was really determined, you can see by the look on his face, that even though he's too little to reach the pedal with his foot, he was still determined to make the car move.
And as soon as he manage to make it move, he pushed a little too hard and hit a garbage can! Every single thing inside came flying out of the bin, landing onto me. Great. Now I smell like garbage.
The couple ran toward Mason to see if he's okay. Then, from behind me, I heard snickering. I swiftly turned around and saw Brayden trying to hold his laugh, but now there's no point for him to, so he burst out laughing, putting his hands on his knees. He whispered something to JC that made JC laughed out loud. This is embarrassing..
After a while, he finally calmed down and said, "That's what you get."
"For doing what?" I asked, a bit annoyed.
"For making me bow to you."
"Oh wow! It's like you planned all of this, didn't you?" I snapped at him.
"You think I'm some kind of magician or something and make all the garbage land on you?"
"Possibly. Some wicked version of Harry Potter." I whispered.
"Hey, don't you dare talk about Harry Potter like that!" JC interrupted.
"I didn't talk about him in a bad way. I love all the books!" I confessed.
The couple, now holding Mason, walked up to us. She is instantly saw garbage hanging off of my hair. "Oh Vanessa! Are you okay?" she asked, concerned.
Then, she turned to the boys and asked. "What have you two done?"
"Nothing." Brayden said, putting his hands in the air.
"Okay fine whatever. I'll need to get you clean up. Why don't we go inside?" she offered.
I nodded and simply followed her. Then, Brayden teased, "See you later, princess."
"Ugh," I moaned.
"As we got in the kitchen, Mrs. Lockhart said, "I'm so sorry about that. The boys are, I don't even know."
"It's not a big deal. I'll just have to get used to it, I guess." I told her .
"You are just an angel," she complimented me.
"Aww, thanks Mrs. Lockhart."
"Just call me Megan, and you can treat us as family. I know that you're not used to this, but it'll be fun!"
"I hope so!" I said.
