I woke up to the sound of loud chatters, plates rumbling, and the dog's barking. I glanced at my clock and it read 7:12 AM. I'm living with a family of early risers.

I usually wake up earlier than this, but for some reason, I don't know exactly why, I stayed up until around 11 PM. But to my surprise, I don't feel tired at all.

My morning routine usually consists of my maid getting the bathroom set up for me, my stylist picking out my clothes, the chef cooking my breakfast, and Will planning out my agenda for the day. But I guess from this point on, things will be a little different. Okay, I lied, a lot different. I have no idea what to wear, what to eat, may I mention, I don't even know how to cook!! But I tried to play it cool as best as I could.

I got in the shower and tried to do it as fast as possible to avoid what happened last night, picked out something that hopefully matches, a white crop top, a burgundy skater skirt, and Vans. I French braided my hair to the best of my ability and put on a flower crown because I've gotten used to the feeling of having something on my head, so I compromised, because I thought wearing a real crown would be pretty suspicious.

I headed to the kitchen and witnessed something I have never seen before in real life -- chaos! Maple syrup spilled on the floor, dog running around barking, Adam trying to find his keys, Megan looking for Mason's teddy bear, Mason crying, JC gulping down milk from the jug, and Brayden failing his attempt to flip a pancake due to Mason tugging down on his shirt.

Then, everyone froze when they saw me, even the dog stopped barking and stared at me. What is happening?!

"Oh, Vanessa! Good morning! Sorry if we woke you up. Just a family of early risers," Meg greeted me.

"Good morning! And don't worry, I'm an early riser too," I told her.

"In that case, I think we're gonna get along pretty well," JC said.

Brayden handed me a plate with a stack of pancakes and said, "Good morning, you look good. Oh, I don't know if you're gonna like this, but just in case you want any."

"Thank you, and are you kidding me, I love pancakes!" I exclaimed, getting way too excited about the food.

"And a foodie too?! Well this just keeps getting better and better!" JC said, putting his hands up the air.

"I told you they'll like her," I heard Adam whisper to Megan.

Then, Adam whispered something to Megan that made her giggle. What in the world?

After the food is ready, we all sat down for breakfast. And I must say, it was really good!

About half an hour later, everyone started doing their own thing. Mason was playing with Legos. JC was teaching the dog new tricks. Megan was doing a painting. Adam went to go get car parts. Brayden was reading a book.

At around 1, Brayden told Megan, "Hey mom, I gotta go pick up my guitar. Be back in a while."

"Okay, sweetie. Drive safe," Meg half shouted from the kitchen.

"Thanks, mom. Oh Vanessa, you wanna come? Or are you busy?" he asked looking for his keys.

"Sure, I'd loved to. And besides, I literally have nothing to do." I said, getting up from my seat.

JC ran downstairs yelling, "Can I come too?"

Before Brayden could even answer, Megan said, "No, JC, remember, your dad is gonna teach you how to work the lawnmower in like 3 minutes."

"Oh yeah, thanks for reminding me, mom. Sorry, dude. Can't come. Got a tight schedule." he said, tapping Brayden's shoulder.

Brayden let out a laugh and I found myself doing the same thing.

"After you," he said, opening the door for me.

"Thank you." I said, then bowed.

Oh crap! Seriously, Vanessa? Bowing? Get it together!

I heard a soft laugh from Brayden as he was getting in the car. "Really? We're still doing that whole bowing thing?"

"Um, yeah. You forgot? Respect." I said, going along with it.

"As you say so," he said, and the car started moving.
