      The minor damage that happened a while ago was already taken care of when everyone got back inside. I can smell the familiar scent of tacos back when me and my family went to visited Mexico for some conference Father was doing.

      "Dinner's ready!" Megan announced, and the guys started rushing to the dinner table. Geez, manners much.

     I followed them soon after and Mr. Lockhart said, "Hmm..Vanessa, you can sit over there." pointing to only empty chair, next to Brayden.

      "Thank you," I said.

      I carefully sat down at my seat and drank some water. "Dig in!" Megan exclaimed. Then everyone grabbed something and started eating. I did the same thing, so no one will suspect I'm a princess, or less a freak.

     After dinner, everyone gathered around the living room and I was surprised that there's still people out there who sets time aside to spend time with their families.

     I plopped down on the couch next to Megan. She greeted me with a smile and said, "Feel free to treat us like family."

      "She's right! And don't be shy. Our family may be chaotic sometimes, but we always have each others' back." added Mr. Lockhart.

     "I really think I'm gonna like it here, Mr. Lockhart." I told him."

     "Just call me Adam, we're family remember."

     "Right, well, Adam, I think I'm gonna love it here." I corrected.

     "Much better." he complimented me, patting my shoulder.

     "Does anybody want some ice cream?" Brayden asked, getting up.

     Everyone said yes but me. I didn't know what to say. I know, it's stupid but I couldn't find the words.

     "Um, Vanessa sweetie, what about you?" Megan asked, tapping me.

     I snapped back to life and scrambled to say, "Oh um, yes please, if that wouldn't cause you any trouble." Oh no! Why did I say that?! You're in the real world now! This is so embarrassing.

     "Why would it cause me trouble?" Brayden asked.

     "Um, what? I mean yes, I would like some ice cream."

     "Okay." Brayden finally said, with a confused look on his face. Then, I felt that my face was heating up. Uh oh! This is not good! My cheeks are crimson red! I looked away nervously, trying to hide myself from everyone else. Then, JC blurted, "Are you blushing?!"

     This is so not good! This is the most embarrassed I've been in my life! And it's all due to that princess manners slip up thing!

     I peeked at Megan as she started to look at Adam, and a huge smile plastered across her face. Are you kidding me right now? Now, this is just awkward.

     Then, after a minute or two, I felt someone tapped me on the shoulder. Great. I slowly turned around and a bowl of ice cream was right in front of my face. It was Brayden.

     He lowered the bowl revealing my face. He studied me for a minute and asked, "Your cheeks are tomato red."

     "Can't you see? She's blushing dude." JC interrupted.

     "Are you okay?" he asked, sounding concerned.

     "Yeah, mate. No worries. It's all good." I assured him.

     He nodded, smiled, and went back to his seat.

     Well, that was awkward AND embarrassing. So far Vanessa, you're doing a splendid job.

     The blushing lasted about 5 minutes while the ice cream started to calm my nerves again. Whew! That could've gone way worse.

     We sat at the living room watching a few shows I'm not particularly familiar with, but I decided to pay attention to the show than being more awkward with you know who.
